We stayed in the suite which was just perfect. Spacious with excellent furnishings. Idea for a longer stay for visiting Chester. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order along with cereals, pastries and fruit. Definitely recommend
Extremely disappointed stay. Me and my wife booked to stay to celebrate her birthday and was planning on having dinner but then to be told at check in that the restaurant was fully booked with events. This should have been communicated better before we booked and information on the website or via hotels.com. Check in staff didn’t care and were rude! Told us to have bar food room service! Ended up with an uber eats! Not happy and will not be staying there again! Service at breakfast was slow and food cold given the cook food fresh and charge an over £20!

The staff were lovely and very friendly, but our room was tired and in need of complete refurb. The paint in bathroom was cracked and peeling. The fold back shower screen at the base was filthy. The curtains in the bedroom looked like they’d been washed and not pressed! Half a dozen hooks were not in the rings and had to stand on a chair and put them in so we could close them! There were no robes/slippers in the room, which meant if you wanted to use spa, you had to go fully dressed! I’ve never been to a hotel spa and have to pay a charge to ‘hire’!!
We loved our stay at Rowton hall, our room was a master suite with a separate lounge which was great to relax before bed. Breakfast was good plenty to choose from, we had 1 dinner which was very good again plenty of choice.
The locations is secluded but only 10 mins from chester centre very handy for shopping or site seeing. We would stay again.
Parking was nightmare. Had to park in the dark, muddy, wet car park and walk to the reception getting covered in mud. Went for a drink in the bar and the girl who didnt speak very good english had the personality of a dead fish. Then when we tried to sleep the room was boiling and the windows didn't open so had an awful nights sleep. Breakfast took ages and we had to watch a group be sat, served and fed before ours turned up. Won't be back but it wasn't a bad hotel.

Nice hotel but could be so much more.
The hotel needed a good coat of paint inside and out and our bathroom definitely needed upgrading.
It took the restaurant staff 25 minutes to take our ordrr in the evening even though there was only a handful of guests in there.
Lovely room with everything we needed. Everything was clean . Staff were all pleasant and helpful. Food was very good . The pool area was clean and relaxing. First visit but very impressed and will definitely be staying again.
The hotel was very clean and the room was lovely. The extras I had paid for were in place which was appreciated and my request for a garden room with a door also appreciated. Our disappointments were in the bar, the beer on tap is not cold at all. This was pointed out to the staff evening one but was still the same evening two. You don't sell crisps either which I thought was strange. Ordered room service by mobile as phone didn't work in the room, waited 40 mins then my partner went to ask, order wasn't on. This was rectified and came soon after but was seriously over fried. We were not charged room service charge. Breakfast service was extremely slow and Sunday took nearly an hour. Ratio of staff seemed ample to deal with the amount of covers just lack of organisation. We were not acknowledged for some time. Buffet was very slow to be replenished and took several guests to ask repeatedly. Saturday order was taken and took 25 mins for coffee and toast plus one ask. Really not good. Fire alarm went off three times, twice in the night and once at 9.30am
I am not complaining about this as at least it works, perhaps the fact everyone was tired because of this, breakfast could have been more on point and up to scratch.
Spa area was lovely again spotless and the staff lovely. Miss opportunity to upsell to us, no idea if any availability for treatments during our stay but we could have been pursuaded if it was offered. Last min avaliablity cards under the bedroom door works a treat
Lovely stay. The building is a little dated in parts. The service was a little lacking at times, it felt like a lot of the staff members were new and inexperienced. We had breakfast and a bar snack and all the food was excellent.
We booked a Superior Deluxe Room. Our room
#119 was spacious. The only negative on this room was the carpet, which needed a good cleaning.
We dined in the hotel restaurant and had breakfast in the hotel. Our meals were very good.
We did like that the hotel was dog friendly, even in the restaurants.
Had 2 superior rooms both of which were very tired with marks etc and not 4* in standard, no a/c either. The corridors were also showing signs of being worn out. Spa area was the same and cushions all marked. Breakfast needs to be pre-booked for time slots and complimentary free hot options are limited. £5 supplement charge for a full English. Venue also hosts a lot of wedding so be prepared for that. Overall I’d say the hotel is 3 star in reality
Bar area was nice and comfortable, well furnished. Very poorly run hotel, rude staff at breakfast and in the bar. No draught beer available due to issues. No lift for people on the top floor nor help with luggage. Room was comfortable but in need of painting, tv didn’t work. Plug in the sink was stuck down. Hallway carpets dirty. Disappointed with the place.
An excellent hotel with wonderful leisure facilities. The service from the staff in the bar was top rate. We were able to charge our electric car overnight. A relaxing and comfortable stay.
Overall good experience spoilt by food order not reaching the kitchen leading to a 40 minute Waite till I raised concern. Offers a refund in cash. Called back at the room by the management to be informed that due to T&Cs I would have to return the cash and accept a card refund. No a good experience. This was the 3rd food order not to be received over 3 stays.

Pool was nice. The room we stayed in was very tired, curtains were covered in dust, furniture was old and damaged and it just wasn’t well maintained.
