If you've been gifted with the wanderlust gene (well duh, you're here right?), then you won't want to miss out on seeing the wider South Jeolla region. Among South Jeolla's natural wonders are its beaches, coastal plains, rivers and mountains. After you've gotten your zen on in Mother Nature, have a look around castles. Fun-loving visitors can also have a go at popular regional activities like mountain climbing, hiking and picnicking.

Don't blow through before you've gone to the Chosun University Museum of Art and May 18 Democracy Square in Gwangju. If you're keen to spend a few nights in Gwangju, consider the rates at the Holiday Inn Gwangju and Pedro's House - Hostel. 70 kilometres to the east of Chibu you'll also find Namhae, which is home to the Pension Manoa and Opera House Pension. If you're staying in Namhae, be sure to check out Nabi Saengtae Park and the Boriam Temple.
