Booked this property ONLY because it had an Indoor pool and hot tub, I repeat ONLY REASON we booked. I even called the hotel to confirm it was available to have no surprises and shockingly, the reservation agent that answered said NO POOL, so she had to call the property to confirm, which tells me they don’t even know what services they provide. After she confirmed I booked my reservation. At check in the pool was available, my family and I went for dinner, at the time of return around 7pm we wanted to use the pool, but pool was unavailable due to “an incident” . No problem things happen, spoke to front desk agent, they assured me that it would re-open tomorrow at 8am, so we stayed the night, OTHERWISE I would leave and book somewhere else. Next day we make our way down to pool to find it closed, luckily the maintenance guy was walking by and again, assured me the pool would re-open at 9am like the usual hours, so my son and I went back to room, at 9am we returned down to pool area to now find a paper indicating the pool wouldn’t re-open until 12 noon! An hour after check out time! Immediately I called from the hallway phone to ask what was going on, I was indicated without any care in the world that the pool was not going to be open until later in the day. With that I had no other reason to stay in this hotel so my family and I left the hotel even before check out time because it would be pointless to wait for the pool. I called Expedia for a full refund, NO REFUND GRNTD

I recently stayed at Homewood Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown South Loop and had a terrible experience. My room was double booked, and a stranger entered while I was inside. This was incredibly unsettling and made me feel unsafe. To make matters worse, my room keys stopped working later, and when I went to the front desk, the staff was rude and dismissive, acting like it was no big deal that someone had just walked into my room.

Likes: walkable distance to the Field museum, Michigan Ave and Navy pier. Price was high but affordable compared to others in the area. It has a Hot tub and pool. Breakfast was included. The view from our room was pretty nice. Dislikes: while the front desk lady was nice, we were given no information at check in. The TV was a black screen with audio everytime we turned it on so we had to unplug and reset it to get the picture to come through. hot tub was VERY hot, and we are people who like a hot hot tub. Breakfast is only served till 9am on weekdays, there were no waffles or pancakes, and the sausages were a little hit or miss. Only valet parking available and at a very high nightly fee.
