Didn't provide the requested number of bedding. Had to provide an air mattress to accommodate third person and yet no appropriate linen for the air mattress. With the air mattress there was not enough floor space in the room.
Parking is overpriced and overbooked
Area is extremely noisy throughout the night
I was only coming to stay in Chicago for the weekend to see a show on Navy Pier, and the motel was perfect for that purpose. The rooms were perfectly sized for 1 to 2 people, were very clean, the bathroom had all anyone could need, and I could walk anywhere I needed to go in the city in under 45 minutes. I didn't drive so I can't comment on if parking is an issue, but for my needs it was perfect.
I had my bachelorette party during the DNC at the Ohio motel. I've always wanted to stay here because it's an iconic part of Chicago and I just never had the opportunity. Our stay was absolutely amazing! The staff bent over backwards to make sure that all of our needs were met and we had everything that we needed to have the time of our lives! The rooms are clean neat and included everything I look for in a great motel. I work for a luxury hotel chain in Chicago and live by Navy Pier but I would definitely stay
here again and hope to do so soon in the future. I am looking forward to staying again very soon for my next epic staycation!
Ohio House was a very convenient, clean, safe motel in the heart of downtown Chicago. Parking was very reasonably priced in comparison to other hotels downtown and our room was cleaned on a daily basis. Schneider deli was fantastic to have right on the property and staff were friendly and helpful.
Good stay.
If your wanting parking right at hotel come early. It is $29 us, but it is really convenient.
Within walking distance to everywhere downtown.
Just a warning the deposit you pay takes about a day and half to refund back to you.
Great location, simple, clean rooms with all the basics you need including hairdryer, room safe, fridge, microwave. Probably the only motel in downtown Chicago, yes it's an old building but the rooms have comfortable beds, the staff are helpful and it's got a retro kitsch look.
We stayed here last year and they offered free parking. This year they now charge for parking so disappointing. When i checked in, the person infront me of told the guy at the counter they were told night before parking was $15. So they gave her that price. When i checked in i had to pay $30 for parking. Unfortunately we had the same issue we experienced last time we stayed here. My wife and i both kept getting woken up multiple times because people on the streets and behind the alley kept walking by yelling. So we did not get much sleep again. We will not stay here again after giving them a second chance.
Location was great for me. Having car parked steps away was awesome as I arrived around 10 after a long day. No need to drag bags through big lobby and wait for elevator, etc. had a second floor (walk up a flight of stairs) room which had a little street noise but checked out location and expected that before booking.
Our stay was ok. The other guest staying there were not very considerate when they were coming in at all hours of the night. Slamming doors and talking loud. Other than that our stay was good. Good location to explore chicago on foot.
