Everything about our stay was a 10/10. The server during dinner was phenomenal this past weekend! He was truly the best part of our visit. The only thing I can say that went wrong was our housekeeper forgot to leave us any washcloths after cleaning on Sunday, but that’s an honest mistake. No biggie!

We had a great stay at the Voco in Chicago. The room was clean and the refillable water was a nice touch. The only negative was that the view from our room was horrible. It looked onto the next set of rooms across from the pool. It was not great to wake up to looking at other guests so something the hotel should definitely be more transparent about. Otherwise, the front desk staff was great, especially Kevin. We arrived during rush hour and Kevin was patient, courteous and very helpful.

I wasn’t very pleased with the double-bed room due to a few maintenance issues. There was some mold within the sink frame, a poor paint job around the baseboards, and a dirty thermostat. On the second day, there was a minor mishap in our room, but the staff handled it promptly and professionally, moving us to another room right away. The king room was noticeably better recently renovated, cleaner, and it featured a stand-up shower (unlike the double-bed room). Overall, my three-day stay was pleasant, and the staff were consistently polite, helpful, and welcoming.

Pros: 1. The view from the room was beautiful. 2. The staff were friendly and accommodating. 3. They offer filtered water stations which is something most hotels do not offer. 4. The price was great compared to other hotels in the areas. 5. When asked how my stay was going and I provided my below cons feedback they did provide a credit to use for food and/or drinks. Cons: 1. The room itself could use some upgrades. The furniture was a bit banged up. 2. The cleanliness was subpar. I found eye contact lenses in the shower, there were chips left on the floor, and when we checked mattresses there was food remnants in the seams. 3. The breakfast buffet was terrible. The food was cold and not appetizing and for $26 per person I’ve had better free continental breakfast than this. Overall the stay was worth it for me mainly for the views and customer service but I will not return.

The hotel is in a great location however you have to take 2 different elevators to get to your room which can be a hassle especially with lots of bags. The staff and the room leave a lot to be desired as well, the first night we were there just about every staff member was rude. The room was okay but nothing special and very limited towels with no extra blankets.

This was my first time staying at VOCO and it was a great experience. Alonzo and Kenny at the front desk were amazing. The staff overall were kind and accommodating. The location great! I especially enjoyed the extended hours of the breakfast buffet. The rooms were spacious. My one observation and critique: the toilets are far too low!

Overall it was pretty decent. Room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Unfortunately on the first night, our television and safe did not work. They credited our room $50 for the inconvenience which we used towards the breakfast buffet, so that was nice! They ended up fixing the faulty accommodations promptly the next day. The location was perfect for the things we wanted to do too so we were pleased with it's accessibility factor as well.
