Liked: Staff & service
Staff were amazing and very helpful. Food was excellent and beautifully served. Our original superior bedroom was dark and looked out on a tiny grubby concrete area with an air conditioning unit. They changed it immediately and the next room was very good. Bathroom fans very noisy at night. Bar lounge furniture was very stained and some of it torn. I didn't really want to sit on it.
The staff made the hotel with their enthusiasm and helpfulness.
Fabulous beds, very friendly and knowledgeable staff (they gave good advice on places to eat). Only downside was the view from our room (29) which faced scaffolding and roof repairs. Thankfully no work was taking place during our stay and we could close the blind to obscure the view.
This historic hotel was right in the middle of town perfect to pub crawl or thrift shopping. The park is located right behind the property. It was a personification of an old English Stay!
Friendly staff and great service.
No aircon but pedestal fan, our room did get warm but no problem for us as Australians we are use to warm days and nights.
Did not try breakfast but did have dinner, table staff very attentive and the meals were well presented and delicious.
We were advised Chichester is a small town but still plenty to see and do, most thing with easy walking distance.
Good bus network if required.
Hotel is 10-15 minutes from Railway station, so not too far.
Will stay again if our future travels include the South UK.
We only booked an overnight stay at the hotel together with a pre theatre dinner. Check in & check out was quick and easy. All the staff throughout our stay were polite & helpful. The room was a good size & packed with all the usual equipment you would need for your stay which also included a mini bar. We were very surprised when we saw the height of the bed which was unusually high but very comfortable when you managed to climb on it. Would book there again.
I stayed on a very hot day. The room allocated was high up in the property. There was no a/c and the windows could only be opened an inch or two due to seagull guards. Lovely place but my room was incredibly hot, which was a shame. I will stay there again though if possible as it has a great central location
Very hot room with inappropriate heavy duvet for the summer season. Check-in experience wasn’t that welcoming, though breakfast room staff were more personable. Inadequate parking.
Very comfortable hotel, well placed and with
a good helpful staff.Handy for the theatre
and and a walk around the walls. We will hopefully return later in the year.
They were very accommodating to our late check in and trips back and forth to the hospital.
The room was lovely, nice crisp sheets and fluffy towels with robes too. There are tea making facilities tucked away in the wardrobe. Plus a fan if it’s warm.
The staff are really helpful, it’s a joy to stay there.
Avoid in hot weather. Windows open about 2 inches in the room and there is no air conditioning in the room at all. Building ongoing outside covered our car in cement dust in the paid for car park. Dinner was extremely slow with only 3 people in the restaurant. Used to love this place but unlikely to go again.
I hadn't been to Chichester in many years. The hotel was really nice, as were the staff. The restaurant was excellent, as was the bar.
Fully recommend this hotel.
