TEMPLESTAY ZENSO
Creating a Space to Enjoy the Margins
It has been a place of relaxation for the community and a place where the deputy priest spent his childhood. This facility has changed its face in accordance with the times. It has been reborn as a temple stay in a form suited to the modern age. The facility has been created as a space that can be used for a variety of purposes, including use by friends, families (dogs are allowed), vacations, camps, and training. One of the three tatami rooms was boldly removed and replaced with a dirt floor. This creates a sense of three-dimensionality inside the building, creating a more open space. In addition to the kitchen and living room, there is also a shower room and a washing machine. The semi-private workspace created by removing a space that used to be a closet and placing a desk in it is the vice resident's favorite space.
An experience that makes you want to take a step back in time
Experiences that allow you to savor the moment are provided, such as a BBQ table and a pizza oven that allow you to enjoy local ingredients. Hot pizza baked in the pizza oven and a bonfire in the silence. It is a rich and relaxing experience that is different from everyday life.
In front of the inn, a garden of bamboo chips laid by the vice-resident himself spreads out, and the garden also bears seasonal crops. Bamboo shoots in the spring, chestnuts, walnuts, and persimmons in the fall. Enjoy the seasonal crops as you stroll freely through the garden. You can take your time to savor their changing expressions with the seasons.
A moment to feel the process
