However, Cajamarca is located 65 kilometres away from Chota. Here you can choose from a number of places to hit the sack. Try the Wyndham Costa del Sol Cajamarca and Hotel Casablanca.

But don't just limit your travels to Chota. Take an extra day or two to explore some of the fabulous sights and activities that the wider Cajamarca region has to offer. Outdoorsy types should plan an outing to Chota's stunning rural landscapes and forests. A few other must-see sights are ruins and archeological sites. Alternatively, try your hand at popular local pastimes like mountain biking, hiking and horse riding.

It's well known that Aussies just love to relax, so consider hanging round a little longer and checking out the Ransom Room and Cajamarca Plaza de Armas in Banos del Inca, 70 kilometres to the south of Chota. Banos del Inca hotels and accommodations are the Hospedaje El Cuarto del Rescate and Serra Nova. Or, you could stay in Chachapoyas, 90 kilometres to the northeast of Chota, where you'll find the MUNDO BACKPACKERS HOSTAL and Hotel Meflo Chachapoyas. The National Institute of Culture Museum and the Plaza de Armas Chachapoyas are popular places to see when visiting Chachapoyas.
