Lights by the bed didn’t work. Very awkward placement of furniture. Trash from previous left behind. Almost asked to change rooms but after hearing how the person at the front desk spoke to another patron, I decided to not.

Sadly, our experience was horrible. At over $500 per night, I was disgusted. The room was filthy, centipede on the wall next to the bed, excessive mold in the bathroom, no remote for one of the tvs, fitted sheet wouldn’t stay on the bed, stained sheets, no sheets or pillows for the pull out couch (later got bedding but was never able to get pillows as the front desk said they had no extras), extremely creaky floors, and hair dryer from the 1980’s. The building has a lot of character but it was filthy, smelled like raw sewage, and the only elevator wasn’t working (we were on the 5th floor). The hotel also felt like a fire trap as it was a maze of hallways and corridors to our room in the far tower. Customers were lined up at the front desk complaining and demanding refunds. The hotel was sold out yet they had one person at the front desk and no additional staff to address issues (like the lack of bedding). So what was good - the morning staff in the dining room were beyond exceptional and the location was very convenient to the stadium and great restaurants. Marriott - this hotel warrants closure for a deep cleaning and remodel.

Beautiful architecture! You can feel the history in this hotel. The rooms are huge, but a little oddly shaped and on my visits I’ve found the bathrooms can be on the smaller side. The staff is wonderful, very helpful. Be sure to take advantage of the free breakfast buffet. The woman who runs it (wish I’d caught her name) is an absolute treasure. She ensures that even regular hotel buffet fare is fresh and done well. Her warm welcome and right setting of every attendees day was exactly what was needed!
