Perfect place to rest and recover
I spent 11 nights in this lovely treehouse cabin in mid-October. It is my favorite time of year in CO with warm days and cool nights. I spent my days sitting in the sun on the front porch reading and listening to podcasts. At night I would curl up on the big comfy bed to watch a movie and drink tea. I fell asleep to sounds of the wind in the pines, horses neighing in the pasture, distant trains, and a few coyote yelps. I was visited by many birds and a big orange tabby cat who knew when I needed some pet therapy. I left recharged and rested. Larkspur is ideally located in-between the suburbs of Denver and Colorado Springs with the towns of Castle Rock and Monument being the closest. The cabin is located on a working ranch, there is activity but nothing overwhelming. The general vibe is one of peace and respect. The cabin has a small microwave, one burner induction cooktop, tea kettle, coffee pot, and large outdoor grill. The fridge is small but adequate when you plan ahead. I had plenty of linens, towels, hot water, and heat. The gas fireplace can be finicky but help was readily available. Of note the trash/recycling is not right outside of the cabins, but at the end of the dirt road in a parking lot right next to a large green house.

Beautiful, but on site issues with electricity and septic system. Caution if kids are staying
Firstly, this property is amazing. It has a beautiful backdrop of the mountains, is very quiet and serene. There are horses very close by, but take caution if you have children as there is an unmarked electric fence. My sister and I chose this property to retreat, read books and write. Unfortunately, despite the beauty, we had some pretty significant issues with the property. We lost power to the bathroom for about half a day, which ended up being a breaker trip. Nothing out of the ordinary was done to cause the trip, so be forewarned if you need to use the on site blow dryer or any prepping in the bathroom. Also, caution on the stairs - they are very steep and very narrow. The biggest problem was the smell in the cabin. The site is on a septic system, which had not been cleared prior to us arriving. This resulted in us having to sit in a foul, human-waste scented cabin for the entirety of what was meant to be a weekend, indoor cabin retreat. It was so bad that we slept with the windows open when it was snowing and less than 30 degrees outside, just to get a fraction of relief from the smell. Unfortunately, the septic matter was not resolved the entire weekend, and was a very large damper on our trip. We would consider staying again if the maintenance issues were resolved, as the area is amazing, beds are comfy, and the cabin was easily accessible. The managing company did offer a small discount off the total booking price, which we declined.

Very cute treehouse
The treehouse itself was very cute and in a quite and scenic area. It was hard to find due to our treehouse’s sign being a bit more hidden than the other signs. The instructions given to find the property were overall very confusing, we were told the GPS wouldn’t get us all the way there when it did get us all the way to the property, just not to the specific treehouse we were staying in. Upstairs there were several spider webs and dead bugs and the windows throughout had previous stays’ handprints all over them. Overall I would recommend a stay here, just wish it had been more clean.

Vacation trip.
I strongly advise that you guys improve your services for your upcoming guests. Did not have the best experience upon check in. Took me at least 3 hours to get in due to the unpreparedness of the host. Now they want to charge me for a broken lock that was done by their maintenance team. I find it ridiculous however the scene was beautiful. Nothing much more to say though.

Breathtaking and Serene
First, this was a challenging property to find, especially in the dark. The gps did not give, even close directions. I highly recommend the property manager list out specific directions to guests prior to arrival time. I would also suggest letting future guests know that gps directions will NOT guide them to the property. Additionally, I suggest placing small lights on the signs (i.e. feather) at the entrance to the property drive. As far as once arriving at the property, it is exactly what one sees on the photos, inside and out. Inside the property are explicit instructions on usage of the fireplace, heated floors, wifi and television. Now that I know where the property is located, I would likely return for future stays.

Tree House
We really enjoyed the property. It was central to where we wanted to go and it was exactly what we were looking for. The only issue we had was how hot it was inside. There was a note not to turn of the fireplace. We turned it to its lowest setting, but it was so hot, even with the windows open. That just made the fireplace come on more often. We loved the property, just couldn’t take the heat.

Very well thought out treehouse retreat perfect for 3-5 people (two adults and kids). The fireplace kept us warm at night and the kitchen was well stocked to be able to make coffee and breakfast in the am. The deck was perfect for grilling/s’mores and dining.
