Unfortunate experience for such a nice hotel

Great location, beautiful, comfortable and well appointed room. The bar is small but good service. The problem that we encountered was upon checking in (an hour and a half after their posted check-in time) we were informed that - without any apology- our room was not ready and could not offer an estimate for how long it would be before it was. The young man at the front desk was inexperienced and not equipped to handle the situation. Many others were put in to the same predicament and the hotel did nothing to attempt to compensate for the severe inconvenience. We had to attend our event without the opportunity to freshen up, shower or change clothes then had to interrupt our evening following the event to actually get checked in. The hotel is actually really nice, but the service was just plain poor. Very unfortunate. I left a review on the hotel website with the same information shared here in hopes of some sort of response to address the situation but they have not.

Cute little gift shop with items not found at other OSU stores. Buffet breakfast was a little week but still offered a menu to order from. Best location and very friendly staff. Especially the doorman. Pleasannt gentlemen

Rooms were clean & nicely decorated. Parking was expensive for a night, which we had no idea being our first time staying there & As much as you pay for a night. To order room service was outrageous for a hotdog even so we didn’t eat til next day when leaving.

This was my third stay. The lobby and rooms are lovely - modern, clean. My room was pristine clean. This is the first time I discovered the fitness center, tucked away at the far end of the second floor, and was very impressed. On a previous visit last year, I made the mistake of going to the breakfast buffet - food was not edible, truly awful - but avoiding the buffet definitely increased my overall satisfaction with my stay. I’m also not a fan of the parking choices - expensive whether you valet park or park it yourself, and personally, I’m not a fan of having to call ahead to valet for my car - so getting to park at my student’s building during move-in weekend before towing had started also made thjs a more pleasant stay overall. Hotel itself is lovely - clean and modern.
