A beautiful, small, historic hotel, close to train station, and within 30 minutes walking distance of most key areas of the city. Very close to a diversity of good reastaurants including the meat packing district. Lobby is cozy place to sit, there is a small courtyard patio, and free coffee and tea. Breakfast had many delicious options. Staff at front desk were super friendly and helpful at all hours.
Our room was for three people and I had requested an upper floor with a view, and staff were able to provide. It had three large windows with a wonderful view and lots of room for all of us. Beds were comfortable and there was good storage in room (though no safe).
The room however needed updating. The plumbing was unpredictable and toilet would not flush for periods of time. Perhaps better suited to two than 3 per room. Also with no air conditioning or ceiling fan, and warm temperatures while we were there, we needed to keep windows open, especially at night. This was quite noisy at all hours as there seem to be a number of bars and clubs that are open late.
We enjoyed our stay very much, and if these two items were addressed we would give it 5 stars!
