Excellent location if you want to be in the center of things. Rooms are spacious and the bathroom is exceptionally large and stocked with many amenities. View from the 6th floor rooftop is impressive and the view of the plaza from the 5th floor bar is entertaining. Room for improvement in the speed and graciousness of check-in and check-out.

Maybe how Hotels.com bookings are treated

The hotel is in 2 parts, the front with the lobby and views of the square and the annex which looks into walls and the pool area. We were in room 001 which is on ground floor by the pool. Therefore everyone from the annex (16 rooms) walks past (noise) your room so blinds need to be kept closed and around midnight the chairs from the front are stacked in front of our room and retrieved at 6 am (picture of partial stack attached). Was nice that they let us into room at 13:00 but we were not offered sparkling wine or water as other guests were. The room is small and weirdly designed with a 6’ x 4’ mirror when you walked in, nowhere to hang coat put belongings and (limited) storage and 1 chair in back. The toilet ran after you flushed it, when I called I was told to effectively “jiggle” the handle which we had to do all weekend. Shower is very nice. Floors in front of hotel are protected by keycard scan in elevator to access floors, however back of hotel isn’t protected with anyone being able to use public bathroom which is feet from pool area and our room. There is no staff at front door and when walking out we saw 4 guys standing in doorway drinking can beer and one walking in to use the restroom which is understandably open to people eating at the outside tables. Other then a cleaning woman and a guy carrying a plunger no one greets you. Rooftop bar is nice but good luck finding a seat. Stayed here specifically for views and “luxury” atmosphere which we didn’t get.

The building is beautiful, location is perfect and the staff is generally friendly, but all the positive things stop there. There is no soundproofing in this hotel at all, inside or outside. You can hear everything that is going on the square outside and what is going in the marble lobby of the hotel that amplifies the noise which echoes in the corridors. You can also hear the sound of toilet flushing in the room next door or upstairs. The furniture in the room is really weird. There is no table and only one armchair in the room for two people. There is a coffee machine but I guess they expect you to drink coffee while standing or sitting on the bed. The same with using your computer. I don’t understand why because there is plenty of space in the room. Otherwise the room was clean, except coffee machine with old and slightly smelly capsules left in it. I wish that the hotel was soundproof and at least had chairs it the room and maybe small table at normal height not just very low coffee table, then it would be perfect.
