Covas is a place that has stacks of cool stories to tell. If you think your life's been a bit boring lately, a trip here is the perfect answer!

It's situated 480 kilometres northwest of the capital of Spain, Madrid.

What could be more calming than a leisurely walk by the water's edge? Organise an excursion to Riazor Beach or Orzan Beach for a great day out.

You'll find a number of nice natural sights in the vicinity of Covas. Why not venture 14 kilometres to Punta de Estaca de Bares? Alternatively, you can admire the natural beauty of Vixia de Herbeira, 25 kilometres away.

How about stopping at Covas Beach? It's an awesome way to while away some time.

Seeking even more attractions? Head to Suegos, 3 kilometres north of Covas, for Area Beach and Esteiro Beach. Alternatively, Foz is 25 kilometres to the southeast, and it's here you'll come across Castro de Ouro o Pardo de Cela Tower and Fazouro Castro.

Located 55 kilometres to the southwest, Ferrol is a destination with lots to offer. The Exponav, Castle of San Felipe and Herrera Garden aren't that far away. That said, Reina Sofia Park and Church of San Francisco may be more your style.

Tickets? Check. Passport? Check. But have you brought your appetite? With some fabulous food and drink to indulge in around these parts, it's the one thing you really won't want to forget.

Searching for a traditional Covas dining experience? There are some specialty dishes to keep an eye out for, such as empanadas and lacon con grelos (pork with parsnips).

When it finally comes time to leave, spend the last of your holiday allowance and say one last "Hasta la vista" to Covas.

Lavacolla Airport (SCQ), the closest airport, is approximately 110 kilometres to the southwest from the centre of Covas. Map a route, pack up your suitcase and set your alarm clock — and be sure not to hit the snooze button too many times!
