I enjoyed my stay at the property. We had a suite, 2 ac units were in the room which kept it really cold and I loved that. The staff was always nice and the food was decent and good.

Had a little misunderstanding with alcohol. Confused as to what alcohol is on the all inclusive menu. Food was better this time but room for improvement. The international buffet was horrible. Deserts were horrible / breakfast is your best meal.

At first, I didn't think my friends and I would like that there aren't sailboats, paddle boards, etc, but the snorkeling made up for it. We enjoyed watching the cruise ships coming/going. Much smaller hotel than we've stayed at before, but we really liked the more personal feel from the staff. I had seen reviews about the noise from construction. That is only during the day, and we didn't hear it on the beach or restaurant. We will definitely return

What makes El CID so wonderful is the staff! Everyone is very accommodating, smiling and thoughtful. From Roger in entertainment, Ari, who greets you at the door every day, Waitstaff, Wendy times two, Juan, Alberto, bartenders Erik and Ernesto. Yes, it is a smaller resort, but that’s what we like about it. Very clean and convenient to shopping by just walking. Watching the cruise ships come in and out was incredible. The grounds are immaculate. The food and drinks were awesome. Thank you El cid For a wonderful stay! We will be back next year for sure!

Front desk don’t know nothing, really hard to have service at the pool and beach. Security guard damaged my rental scooter and they don’t want to be responsible about it, I’m really upset, terrible hotel

I'm hoping to leave a helpful honest review to help any of those considering this property. I'd start by saying that an overall rating of around 7-8/ 10 is pretty accurate for this resort. I would also comment that this one falls a bit under the "you get what you pay for" category. From the time we arrived and any questions we had, the staff was extremely helpful and willing to answer for us. They were very eager to help in any way if asked. My tip for this resort however would be that some sort of map or better source of information would help today's modern traveler who just wants to be able to find the information instead of having to call or go to front desk to answer every question. It was hard to find where the work out area was, what events were happening, what the restaurant serves, what the room service menu was.....etc. As for food. I know this is always controversial on reviews. Honestly, I would say it was overall good. Nothing blew me away and there were definitely dishes that were quite bland but if the main goal is not to cook, there was plenty to keep us fed and happy. We did have the all inclusive package so snacks and drinks were included. Only 1 restaurant and it did change menu some. All inclusive didn't include the best dishes however. Also, nothing was stocked in the room fridge including water. There was a full kitchenette. If view is important, all you see is cruise ships all day.

Roger, the entertainment concierge, is totally awesome. He made our stay exceptional. Victor is a superb waiter and always went out of his way to make sure we had what we wanted. One of our party left their phone in a cab and the staff worked relentlessly to retrieve it. It was returned to us the very same day! Can’t ask for more friendly, helpful staff who actually seem to like their jobs

For travelers who like to snorkel or dive, right at the property, this is the place. Crystal clear waters and sea life is abundant. For just relaxing, the staff is wonderful. Friendly, caring and wanting to help. Roger Lopez keeps you happy, with conversation and activities. He’s the best! Victor waiter in the dining area is excellent. Never misses a thing and is always smiling. Seriously, we’ve never been to a greater place! Clean, friendly, great food and drinks! Plenty to do and plenty of rest if you do not want to do anything. If there is a complaint, it would be the day passes to the Cruise Ship passengers. They come in and take over the beach chairs and pool, which should be for the hotel guests.

Truely worst stay. The room was like staying in a dark cave. The room was freezing cold and the bathroom like a sonna. The lock to the balcony door was broken. There were no towels in bathroom. . After the storm Saturday night we woke up to flooding in bathroom floor from under the sink area. Housekeeping brought us dirty towels on Sunday since again they had not put towels in the room. This was to be our 45th anniversary trip and sadly it has been disappointing. It appears that we were given a room in part of the hotel still being worked on from all the noise hammering and drilling . I certainly will write to their cororate office for such unprofessional hospitality we received.
