The Waverley is a short walk from Crewe railway station, one road back from the very busy Nantwich Road, meaning it is reasonably quiet. It is a mix of older buildings and my room was quite small with a single bed, desk and wall mounted TV above the desk. The bed was OK; however the duvet was very thick, so I was either too hot under it, or too cold outside. There was a rather crinkly undersheet, but that didn't affect my sleeping. The en-suite shower worked well, though the towels were a little old.
They don't serve evening meals, although there are numerous pubs, restaurants and takeaways within 5 minutes' walk, and there's an courtyard with benches and tables at which you can sit (and eat) on warmer evenings.
Breakfast was good; a vegetarian English has no replacement protein but was generously portioned and cooked to order. There was a self-service selection of 3 juices, 4 cereals, tea/coffee, yoghurts, tinned fruit salad and whole fresh fruit.
It was reasonably priced although I paid more than I would have done in one of the chains had I booked early enough.
