About the space:
Hello and welcome to Llwyn Celyn’s “Mehefin Coed” and a little bit of paradise, we really don’t want to share.
June and I (Laurence) Tree hope you enjoy your stay in our vintage motor home, parked up in a setting that invokes (we hope) the off road country lane hide away meets beach and secluded back garden feel.
Llwyn Celyn – Like hundreds like it, is a small holding, a farm of some 12 acres, these days it is still farmed, though very quiet with only the sound of sheep from our family folk, and is set midst a small hamlet of ten other holdings.
Llwyn Celyn’s “Mehefin Coed” is situated in the heart of Pembrokeshire’s National Park – The Preseli Mountain Range and birth place of Wiltshire’s “Stonehenge” and their blue stones, to which the quarries can be seen and walked to a few minutes away from Mehefin Coed.
From our pictures, we hope, they give you a sense of relaxation and to forget the World outside away from our part of the UKs wonderful Pembrokeshire.
The space:
The facilities are simple yet hopefully complete, from your own parking space just to the side of your place of rest and tranquillity, to the large bed with reading light to snuggle into, or to sit in the reclining Captain’s chair or lay out on the cushioned window bench seat, to watch the birds, read or watch a little TV (With DVD player, bring a film you’ve been wanting to watch) or to just contemplate life and all there is in it and your life so far, to taking a long relaxing hot shower in the wet room / toilet (Shampoo, and bottled hand soap plus towels supplied) (Allow a minute or two for the hot water to come through and reach the temperature, please pull the shower curtain all the way around to keep the heat and water in), to cook a simple meal in the galley kitchen with the help from the twin hob (With mini overhead extractor), toaster, kettle and microwave (Salt, Pepper, Olive Oil, vinegar pots, frying pan and microwave containers plus utensils supplied), sadly to the sink with Hot and Cold running water (Washing liquid, brush and tea towels supplied). If you’re writing you’re memoirs or that book that everyone has in them, to a need to be online with free connection to our Wi-Fi, there’s a small table to set up on, to which doubles as a small dining table for two.
The water supply is Llwyn Celyn’s own spring water rising naturally through the rock, clay and peat of the Preseli’s, it is twin filtered and UV sterilised, with no additives (Laboratory tested each year).
On sunny days one can take to the lawned, tree and low stone wall garden flower bedded area, where there is table, chairs and deck chairs for you to relax on, the flowers and colours change through the seasons, there is an area with a fire pit which doubles as a BBQ (Kindling. Logs, firelighters, stick lighter, and BBQ tools along with long skewers (For your Marshmallows or shish kebabs)are provided free in a large water tight box.
If you have a EV car with a portable charger, we offer a coin handled 13 Amp plug in point on the main patio face of the home (The cost per unit will be the standard rate we pay ourselves which at the time of advertising 43 pence per kilowatt unit, though sadly can change as the electric supply company changes their prices, we have pound coins for the meter (Which is in the wardrobe) to change your UK funny money notes, any unused money is refunded at the end of your stay). On the matter of metered electricity, we have in the home three other appliances also connected to it, a hair dryer, clothes iron and a ceramic mini heater (Which warms your home in minutes, it can be table mounted as well), the meter will have a complementary five pounds pre-loaded for your use, we are sorry about this, we hope you understand.
Outside is a water tap with hose and a dairy brush to clean any soil etc from ones footwear, there is a boot rack then just outside the door of your home, on the side of your home is a wall mounted rack again for wet items to air and dry. If in strong winds, the awning is retracted for safety, the lean-to cupboard inside has coat hooks to let your wet items drip dry.
Laundry facilities with dryer is available, just ask June, there is a honesty box, the costs per wash cycle is 50 pence (Sadly these prices can change with living casts) soap and conditioner supplied in the costs, and tumble dry is £2.50 or you can use the natural air drying facility in one of our poly tunnels, these facilities are just a few yards up in the main farm yard (Please excuse the mess, once here you will find out what else goes on at Llwyn Celyn).
From your stay here there are many many stunning walks, beaches and places to visit, to also enjoy relaxing public houses or stay in and cook from the galley kitchen of our small motor home, to which one can eat inside or out under cover, or weather permitting in the garden area.

The drive in.
Llwyn Celyn’s “Mehefin Coed” is in a hamlet location, at the end of a 1-mile single track tarmac lane (with passing places) so we recommend that guests come by car motor, bike and bicycle, though if really fit and on that “Bucket List” “The Long Walk” where you book in advance your stop overs, then good on you , though it should be mentioned, if you wish to arrive by helicopter, you may land in one of our fields (With permission from the air traffic control authority), your home from home is only a short walk away. Please note that the last quarter mile of the track is unmade and, while we do our best to maintain it, the lane can be a bit uneven at times, so please drive slowly!!
