Peaceful and conveniently located, we loved our stay at Casa Montalvo. The beds are very comfortable, as are the room amenities. The common spaces are also a major plus! There’s a beautiful garden and a lovely covered patio. Both have great WiFi, which we used to check emails and have a couple video meetings. Sonia is very sweet, and helped us arranges taxis and let us hang out in the garden while we waited for our flight. Highly recommend!

Casa Montalvo was a lovely place to stay and conveniently located, and our hostess Sonia was gracious and helpful. I recommend staying here wholeheartedly. I do want to give other travelers a heads-up that upon arrival you will be expected to either pay in cash (we did not arrive with enough for a four night stay in one of the suites) or, in order to pay with a credit card, you will have to pay an additional fee and have your photograph taken on her phone for some sort of payment app - this was not disclosed and came as an unpleasant surprise. Again, I recommend Casa Montalvo and Sonia wholeheartedly, but this payment requirements should be made clear when booking on hotels.com

This is an amazing bed n breakfast in the heart of the historic district. The property is very beautiful and very quiet even though it's in the heart of the city. We stayed at an apartment the week before a couple blocks away that was very loud. It was nice to stay here and have a quiet retreat but still walk to evening. The garden is beautiful and the owner is very very nice. Thank you!!

Nice place within minutes from the center of the city which makes it convenient for sightings. The hostess is very attentive and the place is extremely clean. There’s parking nearby which makes it convenient if you have a car.

Elegant and unique spacious casa in a good section of the historic district . There are several very inviting public spaces, garden areas, dining area, roof terrace . The entire is comfortable and decorated with art throughout. I have stayed in dozens of casas and hotels in Cuenca and this is the best place I have ever stayed by far. There are smaller rooms that are well appointed, newly refurbished and larger rooms that are luxurious. Whichever you choose you will have the many places to relax in comfort and be inspired by your surroundings. You are treated like a good friend there.

Lovely bed and breakfast
This bed and breakfast sits about a 10 min walk from the major attractions. It is managed very well and the staff members are very attentive to the guests. Hot breakfast served punctual every day. The atmosphere is very quaint with a home charm feel to every experience. The wood decor adds a special Ecuadorian feel to your stay. This is a gem.

Lovely place with great location
Lovely mission style B&B. Super clean. The shared spaces including a roof top area, garden area, and parlor are beautiful and exceptionally comfortable. The rooms all open onto an inner courtyard where breakfast is served. The suite room overlooking the street is huge and the most private. The location is perfect with easy and close walk to the river and to downtown. Would definitely stay here again!

Casa Montalvo was a wonderful experience. We stayed five nights in a superior suite. The property is about 5 blocks from the main square. We really appreciated being on a quiet street instead of the noisy square but were only half a block from shopping and restaurants which lined the streets to the main square. Our host, Sonya, prepared a delicious breakfast each morning. I loved the different fresh squeezed juices everyday. The property also had several common areas. Casa Montalvo Bed and Breakfast is a hidden gem for a good price
