I stayed at the Hotel Fleur de Lys for four nights in April 2021. The hotel was generally quite good and offered the full range of services I would expect from a business hotel: a very full breakfast buffet, in-room safe and refrigerator, money exchange, assistance with arranging transport to and from the airport, and excellent wifi. The front office staff were responsive and professional. All-in-all I was quite satisfied with my stay. That said, there were a few small issues which detracted somewhat from the hotel experience. I was unable to open the in-room safe on arrival, and in spite of two separate requests for it to be repaired, no one ever came to fix it, and I was unable to use the safe during my stay. I believe that was an issue with the repair person rather than with the front desk staff. Also, a power outage just as I was preparing to check out made it impossible for me to pay with a credit card, since the hotel had no back-up power system and their credit card machine and internet service were off-line. At some point during my last day at the hotel the air conditioning stopped working, and I was reluctant to ask the desk to service it, given my experience with the in-room safe. Fortunately the weather outside was cool, and I opened the balcony door to cool off the room. I would certainly stay here again, especially in consideration of the limited range of options in downtown Dakar.
