Our nearest beach is the beautiful golden, White Flag rated, Blackpool Sands. A short 10 minute drive through quaint country lanes will lead you to the Sands where the award winning Venus Cafe offers tasty beachside snacks so you can while away an entire day in the sunshine before heading back to the comfort of the Barn.

Your whole family is sure to love relaxing indoors or exploring the gardens and orchards at Manning’s Cottage but when you’re ready to venture further afield there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained.

Capton cottage
Overall the cottage is very nice and we had a comfortable stay. The cottage is in a good location to tour the South Hams and is peaceful and quiet. We felt some of the facilities were a bit outdated and tired, with a few upgrades to the details like fresh new crockery, a decent sharp knife, coffee machine and music player upgraded to the 21st century it would be a bit more wow for a 5 star from us.

A lovely cottage in a nice location. Friendly helpful owners on site. Well placed for touring the South Hams area. Easy access to the SW Coastal Path and the Dartmouth Ferries to get to and from the Torbay area. Plenty of interesting NT properties to visit and also a choice of heritage steam railways and a good local pub. Plenty of other attractions to visit to meet all tastes.

Our Holiday
We had a lovely stay at Mary and Graham’s cottage, it was a real home from home. The weather wasn’t great but the cottage and its surroundings more than compensated for this. The cottage was spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished and the fresh flowers placed throughout were a lovely touch. Thank you, too, Mary and Graham, for the welcome gifts, we enjoyed them very much. We hope to see you again next year. Rest assured, Mary and Graham have provided a lovely holiday home and future guests can look forward to a stay in a beautiful home in stunning surroundings. Sally and Chris - September 2023.

Warm welcome from friendly hosts. Well located cottage for travel to Dartmouth, beaches and other tourist attractions. The cottage itself is clean, tidy, well furnished and provides the basic necessities for a relaxing vacation. The secluded private garden is a pleasure to sit in and just chill. Perfect get away
Took my husband away for his 60th birthday, to enjoy some quality time with our dogs, it was beautiful and so peaceful, the barn had everything you could possibly need, there was wine, chocolates and crackers as a welcome on our arrival, Mary and Graham made us feel so welcome, unfortunately we was out of season so could not go on blackpool sands beach, as our dogs not allowed on.but the most amazing enclosed garden made up for it, the garden was so beautiful and my dogs loved it, i would definitely recommend and hopefully will go back in the future.

We had an amazing time in this idyllic cottage with acres of beautiful gardens. The cottage was beautifully furnished to a high standard and lovely to return to after a day out. Mary and Graham were there to welcome us and had left a lovely gift of wine, crisps and chocolate with milk in the fridge which was greatly appreciated. A peaceful haven.
Good communication from property owners Mary and Graham prior to arrival. They were there to greet us and take pride in offering their guests a positive stay. The cottage was immaculately clean with lovely welcoming gift and fresh cut flowers inside. Downstairs has a lounge/sitting area and kitchen with dining table. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, a bathroom and lounge. Everywhere clean and tidy. Very large garden space to the rear. Cottage tucked away down a country lane with only the sound of bird song to wake you in the morning.
