Dated property in great need of renovation and the staff could use better training, although the housekeeper was very pleasant. The room decor is dated and the wall paper is peeling off the walls in some spots. The room was clean, but there isn't much you can do with old furnishings. There are a few portable A/C units in the hotel, but the one in my room stopped working shortly after I arrived, when I asked if I could move to another A/C room I was told that there weren't any. When I asked if mine could be fixed I was told, "no!" It was hot and humid the night I stayed and the bed was very uncomfortable. The next morning at breakfast, there were two young ladies, on their mobile devices the whole time, who were in charge of the breakfast room. They made no attempt to welcome anyone and seemed to only be interested in being online. The breakfast was not bad, but not great either, but it could have been better attended to by the staff. The price was cheap enough, which should have been my clue, and since it was only one night, I figured I could endure. The building is beautiful on the outside and the location is perfect. If they ever upgrade, it could be a very special destination in Debrecen.
