This property is old and run down, needs to be remodeled. I had to get 3 different sets of card keys because none worked . No parking, you had to pay extra 30 dollars for garage across street filled with homeless people. Didn’t feel my car was safe or me. The breakfast was good.

Being able to take the skywalk to the farmers market and the marathon was a really cool amenity. Parking has changed a lot since I was a college student here, but a more lively downtown is a good trade.

Good place to stay
The stay was for the Des Moines marathon. Room met needs, service was kind. The room had a pull out bed...there were no extra pillows nor blankets in the room. No late check out due to how many people were occupying the building. Showering after a marathon would be so great.

Located in the downtown area, there is a decent amount of traffic and lot of commercial buildings. This hotel was close to the one where my convention was being held. The breakfast is great! The lack of affordable parking offered by the hotel is its downfall. $30 a day vs the hourly parking garage for blocks away that maxed out at $10. You would think as a hotel guest that they would try to give you a deal rather than trying to price gouge you for the convenience. The other parking garage was closer to the hotel my convention was at, so it made more sense to park down there and save money.
