We absolutely loved our stay at the Masons Arms. We came down at lunchtime for an evening event we were going to at the Branoc Hall. We had lunch at the Masons Arms before heading up to the Hall. The lunch was superb, all the staff were friendly and bent over backwards to help us. Our room was delightful with a water feature outside of our front door, such a shame the weather hadn't been better as we could have sat outside and had our morning coffee. We had the full english cooked breakfast which was amazing, cooked to perfection. We would not hesitate to book in again if we need to be in that part of the country. We might even book a night away there as a treat at sometime in the future. I would highly recommend.
Excellent Quadruple room above the bar. The Village and hotel look exquisite! Both evening meal and breakast were wonderful. Only two issues. The room is rather dark with no bright light near a mirror. Some noisy music from below in the evening and morning, I think while closing and opening up the bar. When paying the rates for this stay, I would not expect these minor issues.
Great pub hotel with excellent restaurant, best in this area

The staff and the food was excellent . Exceeded expectations and the location is lovely . Unfortunately the room was a real disappointment in that it was dark with one little window . The lighting was orange/warm lights that made the situation worse and hard dark furniture/ walls . Also not well kept as ceiling damaged and looked a mess. Bathroom was beautiful and bright. Quite the opposite of the roo. Which I found depressing . Such a shame as staff food, location spot on but with room we were given I wouldn’t go back
Wonderful family room above the pub restaurant. Separate room for the kids and a massive ‘Jack and Jill’ type bathroom. Could have easily fitted in a bath!! Huge bed and plenty of space for us all in the main room. The nearby pebble beach (small pebbles) is a lovely place too.
Stayed in one of the cozy rooms (wish we had upgraded) one of the best rooms we’ve stayed in.
Evening meal was lovely and shower was exceptional.
Couldn’t really ask for more
Lovely old pub. Accommodation was fine but room very dark and warm at night as there was only one small window and a door at exit of room.
Breakfast was good.
A true experience! Lovely staff, cosy pub, amazing location. I recommend walking along the coast to Beer to have a Beer in Beer and then walk back have a swim at Branscombe Beach before finishing the day with a delicious meal at Masons Arms.
We took a 5 day break at the Masons Arms.
The bedroom was huge and well presented.
Breakfast was a Buffet continental and freshly cooked English, all very good.
The restaurant soon got booked up, and the food was good,
One small problem was we charged all the food and drinks to the room, and settled on departure, but the hotel were unable to provide me with a VAT receipt for the food and drink , this would be a big problem had I been on business, and I have never encountered this issue elsewhere.
Stayed for two nights ,lovely pub with good food ,can be very busy with limited seating if raining.
We booked a room advertised as a standard double room, however the room was not a standard size it was extremely small and very hot,I dread to think what it would be like in hot weather.
