The guest house is set back from Rt. 1, and has the feeling of being somewhat isolated, but upon arrival there were many people onsite as the proprietors also run a campground for tenters and campervans. The campers have their own facilities so they did not mingle with guest house occupants. The outside of the guest house is quite unspectacular but the facilities inside were really nice. The room was spacious and clean. The dining room area was also quite spacious and the use of the kitchen and refrigerator was appreciated. The rest room facilities get high marks. Negatives? None. Would definitely stay here again!
Nice quiet area with several walking options.
Room was OK.
Well equipped kitchen.
The polish girl at the reception was very helpful.
Shared shower may be occupied for a long time when needed.
One night stay to see the eastern side of country before heading to the North. Have to say that I was pleasantly surprised that experience was much better than expected. Thought there might be a concern with sharing one shower with all guests. We got there early and used it before others arrived. We both slept like babies.
This guesthouse is just off the ring road up a short gravel path. The location once you get up there is absolutely stunning. Theres a small brook running by the guesthouse with a bubbling stream. Its all very beautiful and peaceful. It's a popular site for campers/camping vans but the guesthouse has its own protected facilities. Two kitchens to use meant plenty of space to make breakfast and dinner, and plenty of space to relax. Our room was warm, comfortable, and a good size. We were quite tired but there were good walking opportunities in the area. Host was lovely. Only one shower for the guesthouse (two toilets though) could have been problematic but the guesthouse wasn't busy when we stayed, so no issues with this.
We arrived very late and left early morning so we didn't experience the place that much, but from what we did experienced - it is a small and charming guesthouse.
We had a great fear from the shared showed & toilets and we were relieved to see the place was perfectly clean.
The room we got (of 4 people) felt relatively large and the beds were very comfortable.
The general feeling was of a pleasant place to stay
Warmly recommended
We stayed in Airbnb's and hotels on our two-week trip in Iceland and this was my favorite place. I was the most worried about this one because it is a hostel, but the ladies who run this place are amazing. They worked hard to make sure the place is clean and comfortable. It is in the most beautiful/picturesque setting you can imagine. It was lovely and very cozy and homey. There are 2 kitchens and 2 bathrooms and we never had to wait long to use either. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Loved it.
This property is one of a kind. Rooms to rent with shared bathroom. We had 4 beds in one room for all of us. 2 full bathroom & 1 half bath to share with other guests. Its located in a unique setting.
Really enjoyed our one night stay. Lovely room and kitchen facilities. The photo of the outside of the building does not do justice to the inside. We had the luxury of the main building to ourselves (separate from the campers kitchen etc). Friendly host and great location in the valley setting.
Friendly place to sleep over on your Iceland tour.
Excellent place to stay or camp for those who do all around Iceland trip. It has sweet small rooms, common washrooms and large common kitchen. If you come with a camper you parkoutside and enjoy all needed services. On the way up to the lodge there is a beautiful waterfall.

Just a place to sleep.
The rooms are in a building as part of a campground complex. It is more of a hostel than a guesthouse. The particular room we stayed in was very small with low ceilings. I am 6'3" and could stand on the balls of my feet and touch my head to the ceiling. Be aware the booking map shows the house farther down the road. It is at the campground. Also, the road in is a graded dirt road with holes. We had a 2wd compact and had no problem with careful driving. If the road deteriorates further, you might have some minor challenges in a low clearance vehicle. The staff was nice, but all they can really provide is a room with access to a very basic shower room.
