Ireland's capital city, Dublin, can be found approximately 160 kilometres to the northeast of Doon.

Cluain Lára is brimming with awesome sights and sounds. Only 25 kilometres to the northwest, here you'll be treated to St. Mary's Cathedral, King John's Castle and the Treaty Stone.

Spend the day relaxing on the shore and collecting shells by the water's edge at Silver Strand or Lahinch Beach.

Inhale some fresh air and contemplate the natural surroundings of Lough Gur. It's located 20 kilometres away from Doon. You'll also discover some peace and quiet at Mitchelstown Cave, 35 kilometres away.

No rugby union fan should miss out on a visit to Thomond Park, located 30 kilometres away in Limerick. Take a look at the event schedule to see when they're playing. If you miss them, why not catch the stadium's second home team, the Munster Rugby?

If you're contemplating venturing outwards, head 16 kilometres southeast to Tipperary. It's here you'll come across the Tipperary Excel and the Ballykisteen Golf And Country Club. People's Park, the Hunt Museum and Milk Market are all quite close to Limerick, 25 kilometres to the west. Need some more excuses to visit? The Frank McCourt Museum and the Limerick City Gallery of Art aren't far away either.

Eating is one of life's greatest pleasures, and since you're here, you probably think travel is too. Combine your hunger for both by going out and tasting the local food and beverage offerings at a few of the bars, cafés and restaurants across town.

A common ingredient in the cuisine here is mutton. Another is pork. They're worth giving a try if they're not a part of your food repertoire already.
