Although weirdly located inside a football stadium, the rooms are lovely and quiet with comfortable beds. The top floor restaurant is handy and there are several great places to eat within a 15 minute walk. Wonderful to stay there and enjoy Edinburgh without having to stay in the busy central part of the city

First let me start by the positives. It is a lovely hotel with friendly staff. The hotel room was clean with some little refreshments like tea, coffeee, biscuits and crisps. The breakfast was lovely and the lady who served us was extremely friendly and helpful. What I feel let this hotel down & why I would not return again is the excessive fee to check in early. We arrived just after 14.00pm (check in starts at 15.00pm). As soon as we got to the reception the lady although friendly said check-in is not until 15.00pm. I asked if it was possible to check in early as it had been a very long journey and she said it depends if your room is ready & it will cost you £30.00 extra. As we had an event we were attending at Usher Hall starting at 15.45pm we wanted to get ready as quickly as possible as it is a 30 minute walk from the hotel. I reluctantly agreed to pay this fee. She then called through to someone to ask if the room was ready and was advised that it was. So we were basically charged £30.00 extra to get into our room about 45 minutes early despite the room already being ready. This seems very excessive to me. I have been to other hotels where if the room is ready they waive any such fees as a gesture of goodwill. It just put a downer on the trip really.

Lovely clean room, very comfortable bed! However, no window! But- this hotel is at a football stadium and there is a screen showing the outside world! Not all rooms are like this' - but it was a perfect location on a bus route into and around Edinburgh

The room was perfect, just the right size for a solo traveler or a couple. The room and building were clean, and included what’s needed for a short stay. Staff were kind, and helped with any needs that arose. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend to others!

Overall, it was a wonder stay experience but no signate to indicate the room number when I stepped out of lift. We had to guess which direction should go and i had to pull many doors to access my room.

Comfortable stay with nice touches.

This is our second stay at Tynecastle so we were well aware there are no facilities (gym, pool etc.) We already had plans to meet family for a meal at the restaurant so it made sense for us to stay. The rooms itself was a great size, the bed is huge & very, very comfortable but the thing to let it down was the cleanliness, particularly in the ensuite. There are nice touches like complimentary crisps & biscuits making it good value overall.
