I stayed for two nights at this hotel. The day after I checked in, I was told that the water supply would be shut down from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. However, I never received any notice or email about this before check-in. If I had known in advance, I might have canceled my booking. On the day of the water shutdown, I left the hotel before 10:00 AM and did not place a “Do Not Disturb” sign on my door. But when I returned late at night, I found that my room had not been cleaned at all. Overall, I was very disappointed with the lack of communication and service. Guests should be informed of major inconveniences like a water shutdown before check-in, and housekeeping should not be skipped when there is no “Do Not Disturb” sign.

Hyatt is our go-to hotel. We were travelling with two young kids and the hotel was well-enjoyed by the kids, as well as us. Great hotel with great staff. Room was very clean. Hotel was quiet. Nice little gym, not ever very. Nice pool and hot tub. Free breakfast buffet every morning is a big plus. In-hotel menu was limited but the food was good and well-priced. Area is quite suburban, so walking distances to restaurants is a bit far. Public transit options are pretty good. Bus service was reliable and clean. Overall, a great stay. Thanks to the staff for keeping a great hotel!

Our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were pleasant and approachable. The pool and hot tub were very full in the evening (aprox 40 people), but completely empty in the morning when I went to do laps. The hotel was very quiet (probably cause all the kids were tired from playing in the pool ). All in all, a very good experience.

Stayed on the second floor.Room was not the cleanest! holes in the sheets of one of the beds ! shower did not work properly . We have stayed at property numerous times. never did I find it to be rundown like it was. I also asked the front desk why rooms were so expensive in sept, as we wanted to book a couple of nights stay for a concert . Same room that I got for 249. Is 800.00 per night because of a concert i was going to say the room we had wasn’t worth 800.per night. As we were getting luggage out of vehicle ,a women in a car come ripping in she was asking for money as she lost her wallet she said she only had 30.00 on her in cash and needed to buy gas . When I said no I’m sorry I had no cash on me she sped off around the building todo the same to another couple . Did not feel very safe outside the building .

The room itself is very comfy. The staff is very friendly. But the hotel was so full that not only was there a huge line up to get breakfast there were no enough seats or tables. We had to sit in the lobby where the computers were.

This was our first time staying there and we loved it. The location is great for anything you’re looking to do around West Edmonton, minutes away from big attractions but not in a super busy area. The hotel was easy to find, lots of parking on the property and luggage trolleys available at the front. Check in was quick and easy and it was nice to see there was a mini convenient store at the front desk with drinks and snacks. We got a small suite room for 3 adults + 2 toddlers and it was spacious enough to enjoy 2 nights there. The room was very clean and modern, bathroom was nice and spacious. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast both mornings, each day was a few different options and all the breakfast staples for everyone. We didn’t get to enjoy the pool as there was a few young teams there for a tournament but it looked very family friendly. For the price and location we will definitely be staying here as a family again.

Skeleton Crew Struggles

You know when you head to the pool that has eight people in it, and find only two towels, there are going to be problems. Alas, Hyatt Place has gone down that common road of badly understaffing, and it affects nearly every service they offer. The restaurant concept they are trying to explore is more or less their lobby with a few tables. The server? The front desk employee. So what happens when 12 people show to check in, and there are multiple dinner guests, and there is no bartender, nor extra water jugs for tables? The answer is both predictable and a little sad: the experience just wasn't a great one. Why is there only one water jug? A fellow at the bar asked for an Old Fashioned. Answer: "I don't know how to make one." Well, if you can't make an Old Fashioned, one questions whether you really have a bar at all. You appear to have the spirits for it. You have the Internet. Go look it up. The room was fine, though the AC unit doesn't let you keep the fan going all the time. It has presets that turn off once the 19 degrees are reached, then turn on when the temp hits 19.1, So, the AC is constantly going on and off if you are looking for cool air. Breakfast was bedlam. The complimentary breakfast was fine in terms of quality, but the lack of staff struggled to keep up with the demonic hoards crushing all-you-can-eat waffles. The Hyatt is fine... but only just. Quit cutting corners with staffing. There are better hotels for the same price on this strip in West Ed.
