Very old building , online photos and actual property is totally opposite. Poor staff service - very slow service . Whole family waited for 25 minutes at reception and were not attended by staff. Room heater was not working. We didn’t felt safe at the property.

I really enjoyed my stay at the property Oct15-17. Staff was absolutely amazing, very friendly and accommodating. The room was nice and clean, had coffee and tee options . Breakfast was included and the restaurant seemed really nice. I chose to eat somewhere else since there were so many dining options in the area. Hotel is also really close to WEM maybe a 25 minutes walk. It was a very pleasant experience and I will definitely stay there again!

I would give five stars for the food service but on the second day, the lady that provided food service seemed like unpleasant to do her job as she was frowning after us requesting a table near the window. In our room, the air filter on the airconditioning was filled with dust, same with the hair dryer.

I like staying at the Royal Hotel because: it is quiet, rooms do not face a busy road, HVac system is quiet and efficient and not noisy, rooms are well equipped with a sitting area to watch TV or do work.

Nice and friendly staff. Location is central to everything I do while I’m in Edmonton. Rooms are big and clean. Breakfast is included which is a bonus.

Not Wyndham quality
Upon arrival, around 11:15pm the lobby looked nice. A security guard was present at the front counter, which I found a bit odd. It was when we headed into the elevator, saw what looked like blood smeared next to the buttons, then on our floor in the hallway as we walked to the room there were bits of crumbled up plastic, a cigarette package wrapper…we heard very loud people in one of the rooms, sounded like they were partying. In the room, we always do a check, and there were spill marks on the wall between the beds behind the night stand, the bathroom wall near the garbage can was the same. The sink had some chunk of what looked like food stuck between the plug and the sink. There was no bottled water in the room and only a vending machine at the end of the hall. I went to it and realized my $20 wouldn’t work as it showed it only takes $5/$10 or change. I went all the way back down to lobby and asked for change for the machine and asked if no water is out in the rooms and she confirmed you have to buy it. Back up I went and put the $5 in, it spit it back out four times, I tried the $10, it spit it out too, I tried change, only half of it was accepted, the price sign said $2.25 but the led reader said I needed $3.25. I went back down and saw a vending machine by an exit door and thought to try it. It only excepted debit or change. I tried to use my change, got one bottle and then the change wouldn’t work again. Finally got water from front desk. Won’t stay again.
