We have been to the RIU Guanacaste twice in the last two years. The team members at your property are excellent. Moises is a great and fun bartender at the pool. David, from the entertainment staff, called us all by name. We booked two tours with Pablo at the Scuba Caribe booth and he was excellent to work with. The staff at your resort is really what makes it a special place to visit. I work at a resort in the United States, so I really notice the little touches that set the RIU apart from other resorts we've visited. From the coconut drinks at the pool, to the nightly entertainment in the theatre, your team makes the experience fun for your guests.

There are two Riu properties inside of this gate… Guanacaste & Palace, we stayed at guanacaste. At other Riu’s (Cancun, Jamaica etc) you are allowed to go onto the other properties. We walked onto the palace property to have lunch & were told by one of the wait staff to leave and to go back to guanacaste. But at guanacaste several palace guests were on property and were never asked to leave (foam party, bars, restaurants etc) we saw several gold bracelets…. Did not like this about Riu Costa Rica guanacaste & the way they handled the bracelets/ crossing properties was not consistent or fair from guest to guest.

The beach was very dirty. We had to go to the desk EVERY day and BEG for more drinks for our room like water, pepsi etc.... when we are paying this much for a trip we should NOT have to beg for drinks. It was ridiculous!!!

The customer service was exceptional, the restaurants however were always closed early or long waits. They need to work on the beach front and amount of locals hassling you when you try to relax. The spa is beautiful but casino is closed down.

We enjoyed our stay here. The grounds were beautiful. Pools weee really nice and fun. Beach area was nice. Rooms were kept nice. Food was not really good at the specialty restaurants but we liked the main dining. Elevators were a little gross and hot. Other than that, we would go back.

Stay was great, made good friends and enjoyed the amenities. The only two complaints I have are as followed. 1. The ability for my friend to pick us up and drop us off was horrible. After asking security to allow just drop off and pick up he denied the request HOWEVER after talking to a few folks (Caucasian) they were allowed for their “friend” to pick up and drop off daily. 2. Some restaurants were not open daily as explained when check in. Other than that it was good.

This resort has nothing to do during the day or evening cannot stay in the pool all day and nothing else to do and spend some time like in a casino or some games etc within the resort was good before the casino was closed so we guests could spent some time and enjoy the stay

Hotel masivo, deja bastante que desear, atención lenta, no tienen suficientes estacionamientos, comida deficiente, muy difícil usar los restaurantes, buena atención de los bares pero se ven sobrepasados, faltan lugares que estén abiertos simultánemente, excesiva espera para el chek in y el check out. The food selection was very poor in comparison to the Riu Hotel in Aruba, Mexico or Punta Cana. No mimosas was a downer! Not all restaurants specialty restaurants opened every day. The steakhouse served us raw chicken, raw steak, raw chorizo and overcooked corn and shrimp. Not one person asked us why four people left the food and had not eaten anything. They cleared the table and that was it.

Las llaves de las habitaciones no funcionaban, y las personas de recepcion no nos ayudaban, eramos 6 y un nino de 7, solo nos dejaban 6 paños, les dijimos varias veces pero todos los dias solo dejaban 6. Los postres fatales, de muy baja calidad y muy pocos, las cosas se terminaban y costaba mucho que las volvieran a poner. El servicio de mesa muy pobre, tal vez mucha gente y poco staff y no muy agradables. Muy peligrosas las bañeras no tenian un sticker o algo para no deslizarse, varios de nosotros nos resbalamos y nos golpeamos, habia una nota que cada dos dias hacian el refill de las bebidas, lo cual no paso. Hemos ido anteriormente y no habiamos tenido problemas, pero ha bajado mucho la calidad para ser un hotel 5 estrellas.
