Why visit here?

The best thing about staying at the Lighthouse Inn is leaving. In fact, if you’re still planning your trip, consider not staying in Crescent City at all. Stay in Arcata or Gold Beach instead because Crescent City really doesn’t have much to offer! But back to the Lighthouse Inn…the furnishings haven’t changed at all from the 1980’s including the wall paper, carpet and bed spread. The pillows are worn and tired and the bed sheets don’t even fit on the bed. And the bathroom sink is in the middle of the bedroom. Really a strange place. But don’t know how it got so many positive reviews? The only redeeming quality was the friendliness of the desk staff.

Laundry room closed at 8. We were counting on using it after exploring. Very inconvenient. And front desk not friendly about it even though I was very polite. Toaster machine hung up and burnt everyone’s breakfast. Some unsanitary conditions in breakfast area. Large room but laid out very odd. It was very 80s style throughout the hotel. Just not my favorite and way too expensive.

Room was clean. Bedding outdated. Comforter seemed very old. Weird was having the sink and mirror in the main room instead of the bathroom. Lobby though is excellent with different kind of coffee choices, tea and hot chocolate 24/7.

Property was ok, but looked dated. Room itself was dated, the bed was comfy but sheets and comforter was straight out of the 80s. Couch that was in the room looked like it was made in the 80s ... pleather should not be that sticky ... Now the real important stuff: Internet was advertised as 50 MB+, in reality it was 2-3 megabit ... Front parking fills up quick but there is plenty of space in the rear. Offered complementary breakfast goes quick and the dining space gets packed quick.

This property is very quaint. It’s decorated with cute doll houses and copies of famous impressionist paintings. The rooms are large and comfortable. There are no usb plugs so be sure to bring a adapter and breakfast is very limited.

Great breakfast. The bed was just so soft we just sank into it and I’m small so I just rolled into my husband. You book a hotel for the bed, the sleep and then the shower. The shower was good. The fish and chip restaurant down the road was amazing! Right on the beach.

This is a very basic motel. It reminded me of a Motel 6 of Days Inn 30 years ago. The furniture was very dated, the bedding terrible, the towel bars in the bathroom were broken. The room was very big, but everything else felt very cheap.

Plumbing attention and room updating

You had to hold the handle on the toilet for it to flush properly, and the shower would not fully engage when you pulled up the handle on the bath spout. Also, the shower drained very slowly and left you standing in water. The bed was a little hard for our liking and one of the chairs in sitting area had a crooked leg that looked like it would break soon.
