Kingfisher Cottage is a leisurely walk to the beautiful Maenporth, Gyllyngvase and Swan pool beaches and the SW coastal path. Lunch or dinner at the Michelin recommended restaurants; The Cove (Michael Caine) restaurant at Maenporth beach (currently closed) or Hooked on the Rocks at Swanpool beach or a 2 minute drive to either which have wonderful sea views. Swan-pool cafe is home of the quirky ice creams with Swanpool nature reserve and crazy golf all in walking distance. Falmouth Golf Club (18 holes) is a mile away and does great food, fabulous views over Falmouth Bay and is also dog friendly.

Head down to Gyllyngvase beach – have coffee or breakfast on the outdoor deck of the beach café - they have their own bakery, and blankets and heaters in winter. Watch the surf club training and spot marine craft on the world’s third deepest natural harbour.

Walk the coastpath from the cottage – head to Swanpool Beach or the beautiful Maenporth Beach, both also have excellent cafes- or take a ferry across the harbour to St Mawes, and maybe on again to the wooded slopes of St Anthony Head beyond.

Enjoy the sub-tropical waters and marine wildlife from a stand up paddleboard – stroll down to the beach, hire a board or canoe, and explore the secret beaches, coves and reef of the Helford Passage.

Spend some time on Falmouth’s vibrant high street – from the cottage in about 30 minutes you can walk to independent shops and galleries, artisan bakeries, quirky and historic bars and atmospheric restaurants – many with waterfront views or just a five minute drive if you prefer.
Falmouth Golf Club is less than a mile away with a lovely bar serving great food with views over Falmouth bay.

Explore the Lizard Peninsula. It’s just a few minutes’ drive to beautiful Trebah garden, with its own beach on the Helford Passage – or on to explore historic Penzance, and swim in the newly opened Art Deco seawater Lido, now heated by geothermal sources.

The Seal Sanctuary is only 9 miles from Kingfisher Cottage and I can guarantee children and adults alike will love it.
The Flicka donkey sanctuary is less than 5 miles away at Penryn and again, a lovely day out for children and adults alike!
We recommend a visit to the superb new National Maritime Museum and historic Pendennis Castle.
Falmouth acknowledged to be one of the most attractive resorts in the whole of the country boasting three safe sandy beaches and the second largest natural harbour in the world.
You can enjoy fabulous watersports of every kind, sailing, fishing, diving ,windsurfing and surfing. Play golf or sunbathe on the beach or take one of the many scenic boat trips around the area.
Falmouth town centre offers a host of facilities and entertainment, good shopping, art galleries, cinema and entertainment of all types.
Seafood is a speciality and there are many fine restaurants and pubs including Michael Caine The Cove and Hooked on the Rocks, both within walking distance from the cottage and overlooking the sea.


Kingfisher Cottage comprises 3 first floor BEDROOMS - one king-size bedroom, one double bedroom and one bedroom with twin beds.

A first floor BATHROOM comprises bath with power shower over, wash basin, WC, heated towel rail.
Ground floor CLOAKROOM/SHOWER ROOM comprises WC, wash basin, heated towel rail and corner shower.

KITCHEN- open plan kitchen comprises the main items of oven, hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave plus coffee machine. It comes fully equipped with all crockery glasses and cooking utensils required for a home from home experience.
OPEN PLAN LIVING ROOM/DINING ROOM - has real wood flooring to the ground floor which complements the lovely sociable living area which comprises two sofas, coffee table, Smart TV/DVD and a shelf unit with books and games for everyone.

The kitchen/living /dining room overlook the private south facing patio perfect for alfresco dining and is accessed through double patio doors from the living area.
The dining area has a dining table and six chairs, a highchair is available at the cottage.

All bedlinen and kitchen tea towels are included in the cost of your holiday. A travel cot, stair gate and high chair hire are available on request.

PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN BEACH TOWELS.

PLEASE DO NOT SMOKE OR VAPE INDOORS.

PETS are allowed and charges apply. Dogs are not permitted upon any item of furniture nor are they permitted in the first floor of the cottage. The grounds are open although we have installed a portable metre high dog fence around our patio and lawn area. Dogs must be kept on a lead when on site however, there are many lovely dog friendly walks from our doorstep and lots of opportunity for off lead time once off site. Cottage owners now own Roscarrick field which is approximately 3 acres and just 100 yards or so from our cottage door. Perfect for exercising the dog and enjoying the wildlife there.

PLEASE NOTE - Maenporth beach does not allow dogs on the beach between 10am-6pm between 1/7-31/8. The nearest dog friendly all year round beach is situated between Maenporth and Gyllyngvase beach. It’s called Sunny Cove and is also a naturist beach so bathing costumes optional!

Free Internet access Wi-Fi is available at the cottage and the cafe/bar area.

On site leisure facilities include all weather Tennis/basket ball/netball Court, Children’s Play Area, gardens and grounds, Indoor soft play area, Plunge Pool, Jacuzzi and Gym.

PLEASE NOTE - The number of persons including children occupying the cottage must not exceed the stated number of beds as detailed.

PLEASE NOTE - The lead booking guest client must be over the age of 25 years.

We do not accept singles or single sex groups of youths under the age of 25 years.

PLEASE NOTE - We do not accept bookings for less than 7 nights unless you contact us to discuss. Depending on season, we may take bookings of a minimum of 3 nights or more.

COVID-19 POLICY
We will, and require you to, adhere to current government legislation regarding COVID-19 at the time of your booking, including any government imposed non-essential travel restrictions. In particular, you must not come to the property if you are aware or suspect you have been exposed to the virus and must therefore self-isolate at home at the time of the booking. If you need to cancel your booking for this reason, we will use all reasonable endeavours to secure another booking for the Property for the same term and, if possible, for the same hire charge but we reserve the right to negotiate a lower charge. Then any agreed refund will be made less any deposit you have paid and the £50 administration booking fee and less any difference in the charge we are able to make in respect of any replacement booking. If we are unable to secure another booking you should claim on your own travel insurance for the value of your stay. We shall not be liable to any Hirer of accommodation on the grounds that we have not used reasonable endeavour, or for any other reason.
If you become ill with COVID-19 symptoms, or become aware you have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus during your stay, you must inform us and leave the property for home immediately. You will not be permitted to self-isolate in the property. We will then refund you the cost of the remainder of your holiday, less the cost of any additional deep-clean necessary and less the £50 administration booking fee and less the 30% deposit.
We request and strongly advise that, for your own protection and peace of mind, you ensure you have adequate travel insurance in place that includes cover for cancellation.

No trip to Falmouth is complete without a walk to Maenporth beach, an easy route along a country lane taking approximately 20 minutes. The Cove restaurant is well worth a visit. Kingfisher Cottage is ideally situated for exploring a little further afield, we recommend a visit to the breathtaking clifftop Minack theatre, the innovative Eden Project, the fabulous Tate gallery and the many beautiful National Trust properties and gardens nearby including Glendurgan and Trelissick Estate.
