Holidays in False Bay

When chucking a sickie becomes way too simple, it's time to take a breather from the daily grind and say hello to False Bay!

It lies 3,800 kilometres to the west of Washington, the national capital of United States of America.

The Butchart Gardens can be found in Saanich, 25 kilometres to the west. This terrific attraction is definitely worth the journey.

Spend an hour or two photographing the ocean views at Sunset Beach or Wreck Beach.

There's no need to venture too far to find some splendid natural sights. Hop in the car and head in the direction of Moran State Park, 25 kilometres away from False Bay, for a relaxing day. Or perhaps Fort Worden State Park looks more appealing? It's located just 45 kilometres away.

If your holiday happens to coincide with a big dump of snow, you'll see many powder fiends packing up their cars for some outdoor fun at Hurricane Ridge Ski and Snowboard Area.

Head on over and see if anything catches your eye at the San Juan Island National Historic Park.

Getting to your flight on time can be a bit of a trial. That said, it won't be too bad if you're prepared. The closest terminal, Victoria International Airport (YYJ), is 35 kilometres to the northwest.

"Unit could have been slightly cleaner and there was some wear and tear, but overall it was a great experience. There was a big gap under the front door that caused a decent cold draft (we went in winter). However, the property is incredible, would go back."

"Awesome entry to the room. Parking spot right next to the door and steps to a balcony with a view of the water. Great communication as well. Their office closed early and I got a text with detailed check in info. Very spacious room and clean."
