It wasn’t a pleasant start as the receptionist was not helpful when we first arrived at the hotel. It was raining and we were struggling with our bags and kids but no help rendered. There’s a long flight of steps to the lobby so take note for those with huge bags. The black lady receptionist was solemn and unwelcoming, could not give any suggestions when asked about nearby eateries. Room and beds were decent size, but the shower area is a big disappointment. There were mold and the rack was rusty and falling off. Subsequent encounters with the rest of hotel staff were better. They were friendlier and pleasant. The gentleman was able to share where to go and what to do. Do note that there is no phone in the room and no bedroom slippers provided. The nearest supermarket is at least 10mins walk. Hotel is 3 tram stops away from Santa Maria Novella train station, €1.7 per ticket (valid for 90min)

Our TV and heat was broken. TV could not turn on and heat would not turn off, room was absurdly hot! When we spoke to the front desk she said there was nothing she could do for us and that was it.

I found the hotel provided old photos on Expedia and the rooms they showed were of the renovated rooms but they give you the old dorm style room. They pump a horrible scent into the rooms that is sickening sweet and I was highly allergic to. To the point I had to leave the next day and they refused to refund next night. HORRIBLE

Loved our stay here! The staff was so nice and accommodating (letting us check in much earlier than check out). The room was clean, beautiful, and air conditioned. Not being used to the humidity we are most thankful for that! The only thing I’d say is that the shower doors were not able to close all the way so water got out and made the floor super wet so we felt bad leaving it like that. Other than that, the breakfast was delicious and we will definitely be using them again when and if we come back!

The property was rundown and outdated. Our room had significant mildew in the shower. Our room was very much in need of renovation. Although fairly clean there was a persistent smell in the room. However, the staff were amazing. Very friendly, engaging and helpful. The made the stay good even though the property was not great.

Pictures are totally misleading
This hotel was extremely disappointing compared to the pictures on the website. The rooms on the website look fabulous and our room was anything but. It was very plain and small with two very small hard beds and pillows, on the first floor. The bathroom was also tiny, looked like it was from the 70s, the shower was cramped and the sink was slow to drain. All in all not a terrible stay, but we felt completely cheated and lied to, and paid more than we would have if we had known the actual condition.
Our room. Tiny and totally plain. No closet to speak of and zero dresser or drawers.
Our bathroom. You had to get in the shower and get wet to turn it on.
