Staff was able to help with late check-in and then when we had to leave a day early was very accommodating. It is a long way down the road to get to it but worth it. Rooms are nice (small fridge ONLY) but sitting underneath the mountains is nice. Bad Rabbit Cafe is right there and can get you anything you need if you're hungry. We had a great time and would stay here again. You can stay in Terlingua in the motels but you won't get the same experience.

Tucked away

It was me, my 5 year old, and our 9 month old puppy. Clean, quiet, comfortable cabin. Nice stargazing patio. Walk-in shower easy for all 3 of us to get clean after a long day of hiking. Bed was big enough for all of us and comfy. Restaurant on site had great staff that made us feel at home for diner and breakfast and the food was on point. Easy check-in and out process and a nice drive with great views.

Motorcyclists... Do not stay at this property unless you have a off-road bike. There is three miles of washboard, large, sharp rock road. The wifi only worked while sitting at the pool or in the restaurant. The pool water was freezing, even in 100 degree temperatures.

A nice rustic and pup friendly place to stay if you are visiting the Big Bend National Park or state park. The cabins/rooms are clean with the basic necessities... no frills. They have a nice pool onsite along with a great little restaurant serving up meals all day. Everyone on staff we encountered was friendly, helpful and welcoming. Be ready to disconnect or bring a good book, WiFi is spotty which is totally fine if you are out here in the first place (no cell service) we enjoyed ourselves!

If you want to get away from it all, this is the place for you. No cell service, spotty wifi, no TV. Pretty stars at night. 15 mi off main hwy— last 3 mi unpaved. Restaurant on sight. Very friendly staff. Would stay there again.

We stayed at Terlingua Ranch Lodge and while there were a few nice aspects, overall it wasn’t the right fit for our trip. The lodge is about 45 minutes from Terlingua proper, which makes it too far for convenient access to Big Bend or Alpine. From the main road, it’s a 16-mile drive that feels endless and rough—about 3 of those miles are gravel/dirt, and it was brutal on my poor RAV4. By the time we arrived, we were exhausted. Once there, be aware there is no cell service at all, and while WiFi is available, it doesn’t work at night in the lodges, so download everything you need ahead of time. The lodges sit on dirt roads that aren’t well maintained and can feel a bit sketchy driving in the dark. On the bright side, the saltwater pool is beautiful, though I wish it had been heated. The night sky views are absolutely stunning—you can see the Milky Way and thousands of stars. That alone made the darkness around the property feel magical (just bring a flashlight!). The rooms were clean but very small, and the beds, while comfortable, felt more like queen-sized cots. The blankets were thin and a little scratchy, so I’d suggest bringing your own pillows and extra blankets if you want to be cozy. Given how remote it is, it would have been nice to have a coffee maker, microwave, or at least free coffee in the office, as the mini fridge is tiny. We had booked three nights but ended up leaving after two—the thought of driving that 16-mile road again was enough to make my eye twit

We left early on a 5 day trip. Room very uncomfortable. Food terrible, everything way over salted to be unhealthy. Service at the restaurant non existent. Water quality extremely hard, no effort to soften it. Wi-Fi in cabins essentially non existent ( are they on dial up?). Hotels. Con refuse to rebate the prepaid funds even though we did stay 4 of the prepaid five nights. We tried to last all 5 days, but the food was like inedible, the service so bad, that we had to leave.

The wear and tear of the vehicles to get to a room with just beds and bathroom was okay. We were lucky to if we had Internet for maybe 1 hour a day.

Very accommodating for our pet (there is a one time fee). Very quiet out there. About 3 miles on a dirt road though, it's not horrible but I wish it was all paved. Makes for a lot of dust. It is a way out there, about 45 minutes to Study Butte and Terlingua but a nice scenic drive and the roads out there are good. Our King room was clean and spacious with a coffee maker, mini-fridge, and microwave. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was roomy. Nice, large, shared front porch for sitting out and looking at stars and mountains. Unfortunately we were there close to full moon so star gazing wasn't extra special. Staff was very friendly. The restaurant was good. We would definitely stay there again.

Incredible staff, service and the restaurant, pool and small store were great. The room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed but was nothing fancy. AC worked well and the mini fridge was nice. The surrounding is exactly like they say-well off the main road -but the place was beautiful and safe and we didn’t mind. We planned to eat at the restaurant one night but the food was so good, we ended up eating there twice!! We brought our own mini coffee pot and enjoyed coffee on the balcony every morning…and the starry skies at night. We went with our family who brought their RV and it was a perfect base for our 5-day visit to Big Bend.

My husband loves the quiet and remoteness- deer walk through the grounds. It's a dark sky spot so we watched the stars come out. The room was clean and the fridge has a tiny freezer so we could refreeze our blocks. Bring your own coffee pot though. The last few miles are washboard roads- so be prepared.

Rooms were nice, comfortable, and it was peaceful. Be aware there is no TV. We were the farthest away from the office and the WIFI was intermittent. It was good to get away from the world for a few days. Really enjoyed the accommodations, just wish WIFI was a little stronger
