The sight of red squirrels feeding in the garden is a common one from the heart of this peaceful cottage. You can sit in the conservatory and watch them take monkey nuts from the squirrel feeders right outside your window. At night time the stars shine brightly on the backdrop of the dark skies thanks to there being no light pollution that you typically get in more commercialised areas.

If you love the outdoors, you can enjoy any number of excellent walks and cycle routes directly from the cottage including a stunning route around Ennerdale Water which is famed for its wild and natural landscape. Just a few miles away you can access Buttermere Valley, home to Loweswater, Crummock Water and Buttermere itself which is famous for some of the most iconic imagery of the Lakes. For more challenging adventures you have any number of iconic fells in the vicinity including Red Pike, High Stile and Haystacks. If you’re missing town-life, don’t worry, you’re only 10 miles from the popular seaside town of Whitehaven with harbour, supermarkets, bars, restaurants and high street shopping. Once you have experienced Lake District living at its best, the last thing you’ll want to do is return to the hustle and bustle of today’s busy life. Beck Cottage is adjacent to the coast to coast path for walking and cycle routes and fishing and riding are just 2 miles away and Loweswater is 6 miles away. Beach 12 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
