We really enjoyed our stay at 109 Funchal Hostel:
- very central location, steps from main shopping area, restaurants and Funchal Marina.
- there is no 24-hour desk, but you can always get in touch with admins, the check-in was great and quick.
- bargain prices! It is a hostel, so be ready to share amenities with other guests, respect the rules, etc.
- very clean - the washrooms and rooms are cleaned daily, which you don't see often at hostels.
- want to highlight that the stuff is super friendly, helpful and we felt like home there. Filipa and Rosa are just amazing, always ready to give best advice regarding the island, always ready to help if you have issues or concerns.
- the only drawback - the kitchen was being renovated when we arrived, but honestly, we didn't even want to use the kitchen, since eating out it so affordable in Madeira and it is a part of the experience.
