The room stank! Breakfast was a pretty barebones affair, but that's fine. The real problem was how smelly room 247 is. We won't be returning.
Overall good experience and value. The breakfast was on par with many higher end hotels and you can walk to several good restaurants in the evening. The hottubs seemed to have some trouble staying hot, but hopefully that's just a maintenance issue.
You save a lot of money on this place because it is on the other side of the pass from the major ski resorts and you can run into traffic in the morning going over the pass. We lost about almost an hour one of the mornings going to A-Basin due to traffic. It's not the Georgetown Lodge's fault, but just a logistics issue you should be aware of.
The management needs to reevaluate or do a better job of enforcing its pet-friendly policies. I don't have a problem with people traveling with their pets, but when they are not capable of controlling their pets it does affect other guests. The room adjacent to us had dogs barking constantly late into the night. I called the front desk and asked them to address the issue; which did seem to work initially, but within a few hours we were awakened by loud barking again and speaking with other guests at breakfast it sounded like I was not the only one complaining. If that is the case, I wish the dog owners would have been asked to leave. Either way, we did not get much sleep because of the unnecessary noise. This hotel is a great location to base a ski or hiking trip to avoid some of the traffic on 70 and the staff is very friendly. It's a shame we had a regrettable stay because other guests were allowed to be rude and inconsiderate.
Great spot to stop on a quick trip to the mountain. Close to the freeway, gas, food and drink. Grab and go brekkie was simple but covered the bases. Would stay again.
It was fine. It was just a stop on the way to the mountains for skiing because we arrived late in Denver. You get what you pay for.
PROS:
1) Cheapest available option in the area for the night we needed.
2) Easy on and off highway access
3) Better than expected continental breakfast.
CONS:
1) Room was dated
2) One bed did not have a flat top sheet
3) Carpets were worn and stained
4) Ceiling fan did not work right.
It did the job. If we needed similar lodging for a similar reason in the same area again, we would book it if it was still the cheapest option.
It was bad from minute one. We picked bc hot tub only to be told they were closed to clean. They promised night two but they were still down. Room was dirty-they had to come and vacuum junk on floor. The step into the room was over 1 foot high-dangerous. The worst-dogs down the hall barked straight for hours into night. Called at 10:3and again next night. Had to go buy ear plugs. Breakfast was only waffles and prepackaged muffins. We stayed at a gorgeous Hilton suites for same price 15 miles away. We should have stayed there. We thought this would be charming but was a rotten way to end our vaca. At least the skiing was great. I would not recommend this place. There are far nicer or more charming or updated for same price.
I’ve stayed at the Georgetown Mountain Lodge a few times solo as well as with a large group.
Rooms are nice and well maintained. Lots of tv options to stream/cable. Staff is excellent. Nice central location in the mountains and easy access to I70
Close to town. Enjoyed the hiking.
Hospitality service not so good. Had to ask 3 times for towels. Hot tub area locked. They gave us a room key for a room that was already occupied.(awkward).
Refrigerator in room had a freezer that wasn't working right so, had soda in there that exploded in the middle of the night.

Cute getaway from the city
Stayed at this lodge after seeing it from the road last year. It was cozy. Definitely dated. One of our rooms, the door wouldn’t stay closed. But the staff were friendly.
