Steps!
My only concern is the safety of the steps I had to navigate to and from the condo. There were railings for some of the steps, but not all, and those were scary. I'm 76 and not nearly as steady or confident as I used to be. I took my walking sticks and that's how I navigated the rail-less steps. These are only 2 or 3 steps long, but with no railing to steady me, they are a horrifying fall risk. I brought the sticks so that I could hike up and down dunes on my way to the lakeshore. I used them to walk to the condo.

Location of unit as described. Keys were not in lockbox upon arrival. Had to call management to get access to emergency lockbox. Got into unit with emergency key and the original keys were left in unit by housekeeping. Unit was as described but was not the cleanest. Animal droppings were found in living room under a chair and rugs and carpets were dirty.

Wonderful property in the Homestead Resort, located only a few miles from Glen Arbor. The resort offers wonderful hiking trails, nice restaurant and a fabulous outside restaurant bar. The condo is a little dated, the carpet is worn and needs to be replaced. Otherwise, the condo is perfect for two people with a nice kitchen and sitting area. Easy drive to Glen Arbor or Suttons Bay area including Hop Lot!

Small but mighty gem in The Homestead!
My husband and I enjoyed staying in this lovely, updated unit in The Homestead. It is well equipped, comfortable and walking distance to Whiskers and Cavanaugh’s. We would definitely come back in the future!

Comfortable and cozy
We liked the location. The condo was cute and comfortable for 2. The bed was very comfortable. Only downfall for us was the many sections of stairs leading to it from the parking lot. Couldn't find any garbage bags. Plus no dish towels to dry dishes. We had an enjoyable stay.

Peaceful
Enjoyed reading on the screened porch. The condo was beautifully updated and sparkling clean. The wooded lot was lovely. The indoors was a bit dim due to the trees, and I was afraid to raise the wide blinds for fear of breaking them, so some instructions on them would be useful. Other than that, a wonderful spot to stay!

Nature’s peace and quiet.
Condo was perfect for me. For those of us new to the facilities and the area, it would have been helpful to have a heads up regarding reasonably nearby gas stations. Both Glen Arbor and Empire’s were closed down. Visitors should have an idea of driving distance to nearby options. Further, it stated somewhere that there were “six steps” up to S7. There are actually many more and the wooden walks were slick with ice the day I arrived. That was scary! I would have been happy to spread ice melt, had it been there. My sister was there for two nights and enjoyed it.

Fun place
It is a very nice, quiet place to stay. When we checked in I was surprised when the code didn't work but when I called we found there was a second lock box kind of hidden. The only other suggestion I have is to replace the shower curtain

GlenArbor condo in The Homestead
The condo was clean and prepared for our visit. There were two problems with the condo. One was the poor bathroom layout. There is only a pedestal sink with virtually no counter space (only a 3 x 15" glass shelf over the sink. No vanity, drawers or cabinet. The second problem was that the air conditioning did not work and the fan in the bedroom had a timer that turned the fan off in less than two hours. The bedroom was hot. Since we only came back to the condo to sleep those two shortcomings were frustrating.

Cozy & Compact Condo nestled in the Woods
Although small this condo is well laid out and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is nestled in the woods so the view is beautiful. The only drawback is the long walk with many stairs from the parking lot. It makes bringing in luggage, etc. difficult. They nestled the walkway in amounts all the trees so I understand why but if you have any difficulties doing stairs this might not be the place for you. Even with my bad knees I thought it was worth it though!

Rocky start, but overall very nice.
After a rocky start, we had a very good time. We could not get into the condo because the lockbox would not open. Had to call the property manager and was able to utilize the emergency key an hour later and for the rest of the week. The back door was unlocked. We then woke up the next morning to workers' drill replacing the back screen door. I once again called the manager and they soon left. Following all of this, the remainder of our stay was wonderful. Great location to access Sleeping Bear Dunes. The condo is perfect for two people.
