Rustic but well appointed old farmhouse on a beautiful property, large enough to explore and even hike to the basin. Everything that you need is provided - literally. The host has all information needed to tour the area at your fingertips, comfortable rooms - with the picture window overlooking the river a favourite. Hard to pry away from that view. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Wildflower Cottage exceeded our expectations! It was well stocked; original art adorned the walls; the bed was comfy; the view was outstanding; and Andi was very responsive, and gave us so many great suggestions for great bike rides and activities. We highly recommend Wildflower Cottage.

Cottage stay
The cottage looks as shown in photos. The thing to remember it is a cottage. No dishwasher and rustic feel to kitchen. The cottage was clean. The furniture was comfortable and having Netflix for guests for the evening was great! The location worked well for us because we wanted to use it as home base and day trip it from there. We had already explored the other side of the province and Cape Breton on a previous trip. The owner was quick to respond to a question we had. She is a very thoughtful and organized host. There is spices, start up coffee, paper products, dish soap , condiments in fridge, house line phone with free North American phone calls, written instructions for using the cottage, written instructions for departure day, reading material, brochures for local attractions. The phone was great for us as we both have aged parents we need to check on at home. Thank you Andi for being a great host! Loved the artwork on the walls depicting local scenery.

Beautiful cottage and views!
My family and I stayed here for a week and it was very nice. The cottage was clean, spacious, pantry was full of condiments which is always very helpful. We just loved it. The views were amazing and there was lots to do in and around Annapolis Royal. Andi was very helpful from beginning to end and was always around if we needed her for anything. I would recommend staying here and would definitely stay again. Thank you so much Andi.

Welcoming, Homey Cottage in a Lovely, Pastoral Setting
We felt right at home as soon as we arrived. Lamps in the cottage were lit (it was a gloomy, rain-soaked day) and there was a personalized welcome letter accompanying a helpful notebook of information about the locale. Wildflower Cottage's immaculate, airy space is beautifully appointed with cozy furnishings and colorful artwork. Beds are extremely comfortable, bathrooms are large with modern fixtures, and the well-equipped kitchen even includes pantry items such as tea, coffee and pasta. (An extra treat for us was being invited to pick ripe blueberries outside the cottage. What a nice addition to our breakfast cereal!) Andi is a wonderful host, accessible as needed, and has anticipated all the little details that make for an enjoyable stay. We only wished that we could have stayed longer!

Warm and spacious light filled cottage with great views
This cottage is sunny, spacious, charming, clean and really well organized for a very pleasant stay. We could have just stayed by the window and stared at the view of the river all day and be perfectly happy just doing that! It also offers many conveniences and is well stocked to prepare an easy meal at "home". Thank you to Andi for all the little extras touches, we really appreciated having tea bags, some laundry detergent, sugar and more. The only two minor glitches which only occasionally bothered one of us is; some traffic noise from the road when trucks went by during the day (it was quiet at night) and the walk to the river is not ideal in some spots, do wear insect repellent. We would consider staying again, it is a lovely spot in a friendly town!

Leaving was our only regret.
I can't say enough good about Wildflower cottage. We found the cottage itself to be very well appointed, clean, comfortable and welcoming in its' decor. The owners truly do want you to have an enjoyable stay and it shows in every detail. The wonderful long view of the fields, river and valley is an ever changing delight to watch with your morning coffee or evening meal. The entire property is truthfully and beautifully portrayed in the photos and is even more delightful in person. If you've never been to this part of the world,Wildflower cottage is a wonderful introduction as well as being nicely situated for exploring the region. This was our first stay here and if it's to be, certainly not our last.

We loved it
The photos on the website were right on. Wildflower Cottage was a delight, the location perfect for our Bay of Fundy discovery. Andi and Steve, the owners, are equally wonderful. From our front room, we could see the Annapolis River, a tidal river. How cool to see the difference in the river when the tide was in/tide was out. The Cottage has 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths so it would be perfect for 2 couples or a small family. Kitchen was fully stocked, plenty of comfortable places to sit and relax. We spent evenings outside watching the sky, seeing the light change and enjoying the bird songs we heard. Our family of chipmunks darted around. Our pheasants were a bit more shy, they ran into the shrubs when we were around. If you want a central location on the Bay of Fundy side of Nova Scotia, you could not find a better place. Wildflower is near the charming town of Annapolis Royal, which was founded around 1605. The town is small, great shops, extremely nice people. If you are planning to visit, we found Wildflower the perfect introduction to Nova Scotia. We loved it.

Wonderful Stay!
This property exceeded all of my expectations. We came to Nova Scotia for a two week birthday/genealogy trip. The first 5 days were spent in other locations. I had never rented a house before, but decided to take a chance because I wanted a comfortable "home base" for the second half of the trip. I was confident that it would meet all of our needs based on the other reviews I read, but they really did not do this place justice! The views from the front room of this farm house are just stunning. Looking out over the meadow while drinking our morning coffee was just wonderful. The meadow is loaded with rabbits and even home to at least one lovely pheasant who paid a visit every day. Since we were on vacation for two weeks, we also wanted a place where we could cook our own food! Eating out every single day gets old quick, AND gets very expensive!! We bought some food at the grocery store in town but we also found a meat market on the way there where we got some lovely grass fed steaks. We figured we would pan fry them, but when we got to the house we discovered that there is a portable gas grill with propane canisters in the pantry! I am sure that was on the list of what is included at the house, but I missed it and it was a really nice surprise! This kitchen really has everything imaginable that you could need to cook. Pans of all sizes, even some spices, foil and saran wrap! It also has plenty of counter space!! Spending a day in a laundromat was not on my list of vacation "hot spots", but after a week of exploring Halifax, walking Blomidon beach at low tide, and vineyards, it was time to do some laundry!! Having access to a full sized washer and dryer was key in my decision to rent this location and they were a life saver! I also have to add that Andi, the owner, is a wonderful, caring hostess. We had some very nice conversations about the property, the area, and my reason for visiting (genealogy and meeting some long lost relatives). She is an absolutely lovely person, and I really look forward to seeing her again on my next visit (hopefully next fall). After staying in this house, I won't even consider staying elsewhere! I miss my little home already!!

Great for exploring the surrounding areas
We spent one week here and loved coming back every evening to the tranquil setting after a day of exploring. The setting, although close to the road, has a beautiful view to the river at the back, with paths leading to the water, But we were gone most days to explore the area. There is so much to do and see in the area surrounding Granville Beach and Annapolis Royal. In the immediate area we visited Fort Anne, Port Royal, the Tidal Generating Plant, Historic Gardens, and North Hills Museum. The Wolfville area included Grand Pre, rock-hounding at Scotts Bay and the hike to the gorgeous view at the end of Cape Split. One long day we even visited Lower West Pubnico's Acadian Village Museum, took the self-guided walking tour of Yarmouth's historic homes and visited scenic Cape Forchu. But our most memorable day was whale watching on a zodiac from Brier Island. As to the home itself - it is an old home and does have fairly steep stairs leading up to the master bedroom and bathroom. Fans are provided for both the upstairs and downstairs bedrooms. When we arrived it was quite warm and stuffy, but by opening the windows and using the fans it was pleasant for sleeping. Other advantages of this rental include a large kitchen, separate dining room with huge picture window looking out to the river, and washer/dryer with detergent provided. We would recommend this accommodation to others. It was very clean and the owner provided a detailed packet of information via e-mail prior to our arrival.

Charming older home in the countryside with a great view of the Annapolis River.
This home was built in the 1920's and has a few quirks such as some floors sloping a bit and a musty smell on first arrival. That said, it is charmingly decorated, very clean, large rooms and a great view. Close driving to Annapolis Royal. The owners live nearby and are very nice. We were two couples and had plenty of room. The kitchen is large and well stocked. Allow a little extra time if baking in the oven. Sitting in the sun room each morning, watching the sunrise and sipping our coffee will be a favorite memory. We would stay here again!

Beautiful cottage
Lovely place with lovely views of the Annapolis river. Two full bathrooms and two large bedrooms, great. We have stayed in may places in Europe and N America and this was the most well provisioned rental we have experienced. Even a selection of teas available! Close to many interesting historic and natural sites. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Peace + beauty=Home
There are no words to describe the beauty and peace we found at the Wildflower Cottage. The description and pictures are exactly what we found when we arrived. Our family enjoyed every moment of our vacation there and Andi and Steven were incredible hosts. They provided us with several recommendations of where to visit and spent some time getting to know us. The cottage had everything we needed to enjoy our stay and more. On the day before we left, we saw beavers, a snowshoe hare, a deer which came to the big picture window and a pheasant. Such an incredible place and vacation! We would definitely return and are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to stay in Andi and Steven's home. Thank you again for opening your home to us! We miss it already! Wonderful Cottage - Great Stay!
We stood at Wildflower Cottage for only one week but we loved the beautiful old house with the great view over the meadows and the Annapolis River so much. The cottage with the lovely and charming interior left nothing to be desired. Especially we loved the closer area: the dykes, the meadows and the ponds with all the flowers, the different birds (we haven´t seen hummingbirds and cedar waxwings before), the muscrats and beavers, the White-Tailed deers and the historical town of Annapolis Royal too. Wildflower Cottage is the perfect home after long days of exploring the gorgeous coasts along the Bay of Fundy and the wilderness of nearby Kejimkujik National Park. If ever there is a chance to be back at Nova Scotia we´re sure we will stay at Wildflower Cottage again! Thank you so much Andi and Steve! Anja & Max & Emil, Berlin/Germany
