Room was good. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was nice and clean. Carpet was slightly stained but generally the standard was good and room was clean. The only disappointing thing was the breakfast. Scrambled eggs were bland and the portion size of salmon was really small. The quality of the full English was that of an average buffet, but it’s not a buffet breakfast and the portion size is small. It’s a nice hotel and I expected a better breakfast.

Staff were welcoming and friendly. The amenities were excellent and the bar food menu offered genuine variety to a good standard. The room I stayed in was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast in the restaurant offered great views over the Oxfordshire countryside and was freshly prepared to order by attentive staff. A one night stay on a cold winters night offering warmth, hospitality and good value.

From initial pre-stay phone call through registration to finally checking out, the staff were helpful, informative and friendly. None of our questions and requests were of any problem to the staff, to which they responded promptly and professionally. The room was beautifully presented and the bathroom huge with separate walk-in shower and bath. I would have no hesitation in recommending a stay at this magnificent hotel to any friend, relative or casual reader of this review. One minor niggle was the poor mobile reception for the EE network from our room (102). It caused a number of important missed texts before we discovered this issue. As we had 3 members of the family in different rooms, we quickly got around the problem by using the free wifi, which was excellent throughout the hotel and conference facility. Had this anomaly been highlighted on check-in, our missed texts and calls could have avoided. Regardless, it did not affect the enjoyment of our stay, Whilst our interaction with all staff was always good, the front of house staff deserve particular mention, as we had the most dealings with them. Lel was always of great help during our stay, and was consistent in her professional, yet friendly approach to us. Thank you Lel
