If you enjoy nature, the outdoors and the simple pleasure of camping but would like privacy and a sheltered place to sleep - this site is perfect for you. There is a small, quaint cabin with a double bed and dishes, pots, utensils for use on your own cook stove (we will be purchasing a cook stove soon) or our firepit, picnic table outside. The property also has a vintage Boler trailer on site for additional sleeping (small bed and bench) suitable for one or two people. Feel free to bring your own tents for additional sleeping. Maximum 8 allowed on property per rental. There is a set of stairs down to the lake where you will find a canoe and kayak, a small dock and complete privacy much of the time. Please note that the entry into the water is quite mucky at the bottom and the water level at the dock is too low for jumping in. The lake is quiet and perfect for those that enjoy a peaceful natural Canadian lake atmosphere. Bring your own paddle board if you don’t like the idea of touching the bottom of the lake - and then jump right in out in the middle of the lake. The small lake is separated from the vast Centennial Lake by a culvert and has only four other property owners so there is a wonderful feeling of seclusion. There are two fire pits available for use - one by the shore and one by the cabin and trailer. There is a rustic outhouse by the cabin. The property is completely off-grid: there is no electricity or running water. Please note, the lights and outlets in the photos are for future solar power. Renters will need to bring flashlights, lanterns, bed linens, drinking water and may use lake water in provided jugs for washing dishes. This kind of rustic property is not suitable for everyone but for the adventurous it is a little piece of heaven where you can enjoy privacy, simplicity and nature. Bring your fishing poles, a good book and hiking boots. If you have your own jet skis or motorboat, there are numerous nearby boat launches and miles of boating on larger lakes in the area. Be sure to check out the Eagle's Nest Lookout in nearby Calabogie (see pics of the amazing cliff view). Please respect nature while here and keep campfires under control. No fireworks, parties or excessive noise allowed. We hope you enjoy your stay.
