The Perfect Getaway
This is the perfect spot to get away from it all. The view is phenomenal and will recharge your soul within minutes. There are paddle boards and a kayak to explore the scenic shoreline. We saw sea turtles, rays, starfish, and multiple species of tropical fish. The driveway will require an SUV and you need to take it slow which is not a big deal. You will need water shoes or sturdy footwear for the stone paths and rocky portions of the waters edge. The cabin is off the grid so you won’t be able to use a hairdryer and there is no microwave but this was not an issue for us….we came to chill out and enjoy the natural surroundings. The AC was more than ample and the outdoor shower was perfect for this private location. Petagay, our host, was very responsive and super helpful. Can’t wait to go back, sit on the deck and gaze out over the ocean…..

Jungle and Beach Bliss
Extreme privacy in a jungle setting- CHECK Incredible water with abundant marine life- CHECK Comfortable off grid living on the most beautiful island in the Bahamas- Double CHECK! Do your research and learn how to access Twin Coves Beach- it’s well worth the journey. Consider somewhat limited eating options and expensive and limited grocery items. We highly recommend taking dry goods with you. Absolutely our favorite place to visit- if you like some adventure this is the place!

Stunning!
Absolutely stunning! The view, the water, complete solitude. I echo what others have said, definitely rent an SUV, I don’t think a car could clear the ruts in the road leading up to the cottage. If you aren’t a fan of nature, bugs, crabs in the outdoor shower this is not for you. But it is so beautiful, take the SUP or kayaks to the beach to the right, or just float in your own bay. One day we had high winds and it was very wavy and the water was high, the other clear skies and clear water and calm seas so we could just float on our backs. Water shoes are helpful just to get in and out but when we were there they had a bucket full of them so you may not need to bring them yourselves. As wasteful Americans we do like a cold room and with the air conditioning on the economy setting and the ceiling fan on high we were every comfortable sleeping at night even though it was very hot outside. There are some left over sunscreen and bug sprays, and a few spices and coffee in the kitchen. I would recommend bringing a beach towel. There are some smaller Turkish towels but it’s nice to have a little more. We were there in May and not all restaurants are open when they say they will be as it’s shoulder season. I believe you can always count on the cove restaurant at the hotel just down the road to be open, although it is pricey. Can’t wait to go back.

Amazing Cottage in North Eleuthera
My wife and I booked the cottage to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary. It was an amazing place to stay and we both enjoyed our time here. The view from the porch can't be beat. The ocean access here was nice and you are only a short drive from some really amazing beaches. I was a little hesitant at first about the cottage being off the grid, but I'm thankful that it was as we had power and water the whole time, while Gregory Town was without power for a few days during our trip. I can't recommend this place enough. If you are thinking about staying here, then go ahead and book it, you won't regret it. The road to the cottage is a little rough in spots so I would recommend an SUV over a sedan (at one point we were driving a Subaru and made it just fine).

Beautiful Secluded Get Away
Property is beautiful and secluded. As people before have said, it is best to have a higher SUV type vehicle, the hill before the parking spot is a pretty good hill. House is perfect, off grid, quiet and had everything we needed. We didnt use the AC but had no issues with anything being off grid. Water access was easy for swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking and snorkeling (go right from the stairs for shallow water and left for deeper water and more fish/coral). If you are looking for a laid back vacation this is the place for you, if you are looking for resort type living pick another island. Thank you Petagay for everything and we hope to be back soon!

Can't Ask for More
Skylarking is a very special property, and our time went by much too fast. The location is ideal from the perspective of convenience to groceries, restaurants, beaches and ELH. Regardless of where you stay always rent some type of SUV. You'll definitely need one here. The property is beautiful. It feels like the stone path is leading you into the jungle until you arrive at the house and experience the view of the Caribbean below. The views from this house are breathtaking. The house is essentially one large room. There is a tiny, but well-laid-out and functional kitchen at the back. The main room is airy and spacious. We spent most of the week with the floor-to-ceiling glass doors open, so the large deck felt like an extension of the living space. I slept like a baby the entire week between the fresh air and the sound of the Carribean below. The bathroom is quite large and there's space to store empty luggage under the vanity. The only shower is just outside, and other than the occasional bird or hermit crab, it is completely private. For an off-grid property, the water pressure and temperature were the best we've experienced on the island. While we loved the house, we also spent a lot of time on the little beach and in the water. We realized we could have stayed put for the entire week and have never been bored between snorkeling and paddling. If you're looking for a hotel, Skylarking is not for you, but if you're looking for unplugged time in paradise, it's perfection.

A special place
I am very hesitant to write a review about this lovely place, as I want to keep it all to myself. If you want absolute privacy, peace and quiet, you don't care about meeting other people and keep your luggage to a minimum this is the place for you. I mention the luggage only because there is a winding, slightly uphill path to the rental. Nice snorkeling to the right of the entry into the water. Just bring a cooler with beer and snacks and hang out all day on the loungers provided down by the water. If you can manage to pull yourself out of the King sized bed with an unbelievable view, that is. We did not want to leave and can't wait to go back!

Spent a lovely week at Skylarking, kayaking, snorkeling and waking up each morning to a beautiful view. The cottage is very comfortable and private. We had dinner at Daddy Joe's and Unca Genes, very good food! Be sure to rent a 4 wheel drive, driveway is challenging. This was our first visit to the Bahamas, everyone is very friendly and welcoming!

Tranquil seclusion
Great comms from PG the host. Gave lots of useful advice re car hire and travel to Eleuthera. The place was very clean. Nicely decorated with wonderful views of the Caribbean. Very secluded and peaceful. Well located for a number of interesting sights in North Eleuthera such as Saphire Blue Hole, Preachers Cave, Harbour Island, Spanish Wells and snorkeling the Current Cut (all can be done independently without a guide) . Well equipped with stand up paddles, kayaks and snorkel gear which are great for exploring the coast near the cottage. Saw a number of stingrays and even a couple of reef sharks! Car hire definitely a requirement to get around the island as there's no public transport and no bike or moped hire available. And the distances between villages and sights even in North Eleuthera are quite far. The car hire is expensive but it's worth it.

Off the grid escape
If you want to relax off the grid this is a great spot. The view from the property was really amazing. The gentle bay had perfect sand and crystal clear water perfect for floating around. Keep in mind that this spot is down a gravel road with some elevation and bumps (I recommend an SUV or 4x4). Our only real complaint is that the bed was extra firm and very uncomfortable to us.

A Week in Paradise
We loved the seclusion and tranquility of the property. The private cove and its access were wonderful. The use of the kayak and paddleboards were greatly appreciated. PG was always available to answer questions or give assistance to all our needs. The cottage was just the right size for 2 people. We loved the outdoor shower. The location of the property on the island was close to the airport and many great beaches and sights. We met Archie the cat who followed us back and forth from the car. We really, really enjoyed our vacation and would visit again and recommend to to our friends. PS (rent an SUV for this cottage rental) Thanks PG, Bob & Melanie

Skylarking is paradise! It is off the grid and perfect for an adventurous couple. A little off the beaten path. The cottage is decorated in beautiful woods, simple and clean. The outdoor shower is incredible! The view from the deck is breathtaking. We enjoyed the kayaking and paddle boards. The path to the cottage is a hike but beautiful. PG is a wonderful host! We rented a larger vehicle. Best for the roads. We traveled north to Marsh Harbor to dive with Valentines. We also traveled to Preacher's cave and devils' backbone beach. Spectacular. Our favorite beaches were Receiver's beach and Rainbow beach, both south. We look very forward to returning.
