The front desk person seemed to be really annoyed that guests were checking in at a place that offers their space to visitors. I understand if you’re tired and not an evening person, but you don’t have to be rude to us about that, talk to your supervisor about maybe having a different shift or something. There was also a lot of disorganization around charging us and we were asked to pay again for our booking when we’d already been charged but they couldn’t find that information on their end. The room smelled like ancient, neglected church pews and was windowless unlike the photos. The bathrooms are grungy and look as though you’re one step away from contracting a bacterial skin infection. My partner and I could hardly sleep and luckily had only booked one night. Do not recommend this place, avoid if you can and only go as a very last resort.
Staff was friendly. Good restaurants close. Not a bad place but dont be fooled by the pics. Good option if youre looking to cheap out and arent worried about comfort.
The dirtiest hostel you will ever find. How does this hostel even stays in business? May be because of the misleading pictures? This place is so dirty you will not even believe!! So noisy at night with such a bad breakfast,..they don't even have milk/creamer for coffee & the lady gets irritated even just for asking. Don't even mention the bathroom -- it is the worst hostel I have ever stayed in my life. Don't be mislead by the pictures, its a nasty place. It will ruin your trip for real.
Arrived in the evening, I attempted to pay in US dollars which wasn't accepted and I hadn't exchanged my money yet. But then I paid with my cards and it didn't work the first few time if you have a Canadian visa I found they have some difficulty on Guatemalas visanet. Otherwise the stay was good breakfast was pancakes and fruit
- hair and mysterious spots on the bed sheet
- floor in the showers and bathrooms wet and dirty
- no toilet paper on 4/5 occassions
- safe area with many good restaurants nearby
