Week long getaway
Check in was a breeze. I knew this was an older house with some cosmetic issues when we reserved it. What we didnt count on was the broken chair no skillet broken outdoor shower, and the Cockroaches. Thats where i draw the line. They were in the bathroom and and a couple in the kitchen. When i messaged Vacas they told me to use use the spray provided and basically take care of it ourselves.. the location was beautiful and very peaceful. But overall we would not stay here again

Fabulous quiet beach. Beautiful dunes. The house was very clean and just what we needed. It would however benefit from a little updating and TLC.

Getting away
We were there 9 nights- the view is amazing the home is old but was clean. Few things could be improved for a better experience but it served our purpose of getting away and not having too many neighbors.

fantastic location - property could use some work
This was a wonderful place to stay for a week with our dog. The location is perfect - very close to the beach. The deck has a gate to keep dog from wandering. The house itself could use some work, which we already knew from previous reviews. The kitchen cupboard doors are falling apart, and we found mouse droppings in the silverware drawer. There was a rat in the laundry room. We only used the master bedroom and found it comfortable, with a good view of the beach from the patio door. The patio door opened/closed with great difficulty, however. The patio door to the living room opened/closed well, so we just used that door instead. The bathroom apparently just had some trim work done, and the trim hasn't been painted, giving the room an unfinished appearance. With some attention to these details, this would be an outstanding rental.

Great Winter Trip to Ft Morgan
For a winter trip this was a good location. House needs some TLC. Older house with very few recent improvements. Whoever is performing repairs in the house needs to keep their day job!! Definitely not a professional carpenter. Most areas in the house were clean but it needs a good "deep cleaning" throughout. Spider webs on the walls in one bedroom, kitchen utensils had to be cleaned before use. Some of the kitchen drawers contain construction supplies while another had rodent droppings inside. Couldnt get the tv in the den to work. No big deal in the summer as most are on the beach most of the time but we needed it the winter. The tv in the master bedroom is a 24 inch tv, need binoculars to see it from the bed. Time to upgrade that tv for sure. A matress upgrade is needed in the master bedroom too. Sliding glass door in the master bedroom leading to the deck is in dis-repair. Has to be forced open. You can see it is worn out before ever getting in it. For a true "beach trip" this location is awesome. The walk from the house to the beach is shorter than most walks from a condo. GREAT LOCATION! House needs to be completely remodeled and soon!

Great location
Second time staying at this property so we pretty well knew what to expect. Older property but has it’s charm. A couple of small item: 1. New refridgator but should have door hinged to open the other way. 2. Gate at top of stairs need to have hinges fixed. 3. Railing at ramp by parking needs to be repaired. 4. Outside shower door is off it’s hinges. 5. Main shower tile is somewhat suspect and causing water to leak to the flooring. This is destroying the sub-flooring. 6. Kitchen toaster has a bad heating and only toast on one side.

5 Star View, 3 Star Home
The view and proximity to the beach are incredible, but the home is definitely lacking. My husband and I (along with our 2 pups) first stayed in this home 2 years ago. We noticed from the pictures that some updates had been made to the home, so we decided to give it another shot, mainly because of the convenient beach access. The walkway is so nice and really makes getting to the beach a breeze! During our first stay, the shower appeared to be newly tiled, but we found on this trip that several tiles were falling off and appeared moldy. Updates were also made to the flooring, but the floors were wavy and uneven. There were several soft spots that made us feel uneasy when walking through the home. The king sized bed is extremely broken in, and pretty much forces you to sink into the middle. My husband and I did not find it to be very comfy. The WiFi was decent, but we did have to reset the router a few times during our stay. The keypad stays locked even after you've entered the code. Be sure you have access to your code at all times or you will find yourself locked out! I really hate to harp on the negatives because this home has so much potential!!! The owners of this home have a prime location, but this home definitely deserves some TLC.

House “2” — location and view “10”
The house had bugs, there were traps in several places, the updates that it had underwent were obviously DIY. The popcorn ceiling kept falling chunk by chunk our entire visit. The last day we were there we were greeted by a giant cockroach. Not something you want to see when you are packing your bags to bring back home. HOWEVER!!! The view from the deck and the location of the house was amazing. If the house could get some serious updates it would be an absolute jewel.

Private Beach
The beach as stated in the listing was directly across the sand dune. What they didn't mention was that this was on a "private" road and the beach area which was only about 75 yrds away was very much like having your own private beach that "was" dog friendly. Wife and I and dog would get up every morning and set on the "really" nice balcony and not say a word and listen to ocean waves. Very peaceful and quiet. Loved it beyond belief. Will be going back in the fall after Labor day.

Perfect location
Have stayed in the Fort Morgan area for MANY years in many properties. This location is perfect. The house is nothing fancy, but very very comfortable and perfect for a pet to accompany you to the beach. Could have used a little information about how to operate the TV's. Never could figure it out so happily we had better things to do!!

PRIME BEACH ACCESS 200yds from door-boardwalk is directly in front of property; quiet, private and just what we wanted since beach and home are dog friendly. This older property needs some TLC but the King bed is comfortable, there was clean bedding/towels, shower had great H2O pressure, new fridge, large deck with 4 chairs, table and lounge chair make it all worth it. *If you have trouble with stairs, there are 16 to enter home *If you’re > 6’2 watch out for ceiling fans. All considered, we’d stay again.

Perfect beach getaway
As far as location goes, this house can’t be beat! Easy beach access right outside with what feels like your own personal boardwalk. The deck was perfect for drinking morning coffee while listening to the sounds of the ocean! You can tell it’s an older home and it needs some minor repairs but it was cozy and the bed was extremely comfortable. And the fact that our dog could join us on vacation was awesome. He loved it too! We will definitely stay again!

Killer deck and gulf view
This little beach cabin was just right. The porch was perfect for coffee (not at night bc of no see ums) and listening to the waves. We saw sharks, rays and dolphins, a rabbit and I even heard a whiporwhill. The beach was so empty (first week of June!!). I would like to point out there are 15 steps you must climb to enter the property. Also, the cabin has obviously endured a lot of storms and water damage ( which didn’t bother us at all) and could use some updates including an air conditioning revamp. That being said, the photos online show exactly what you’re getting. Our chihuahua loved the deck and house. It was a great short escape for us and I would love to visit again.

Great location and view but not a great house.
Good location and great view. This property has good and bad qualities. Like I said good view, great location. Inside the house was less then mediocre. It was cleanish and everything worked. Plenty of towels, blankets, places to sit. The kitchen floor was wavy, meaning not level at all. Some tiles were cracked. The bathroom was small, which is ok, but the floor leaned toward the drain in the shower. If you went outside while someone was showering you could see water coming out of the bottom of the house. I understand that it’s been a rental since the early 90’s but I think for what you will get for rent you could update it a little. Or just keep up on maintenance things. Overall I won’t stay there again but for a quick getaway next to the beach it was good enough.
