Booking a room at the Chunwangbong Pension is one more option if you're still after a hotel. It's situated 18 kilometres from central Gurye. If that doesn't suit you, consider The Suites Hotel Namwon, 20 kilometres away.

If you've still got itchy feet, why not head out and discover more of the South Jeolla region? Don't even think of heading home without visiting some of the region's stunning beaches. High heels or flip-flops? However you like to roll, you're sure to enjoy a trip to Gwangju, 60 kilometres away. With the Chosun University Museum of Art and May 18 Democracy Square to explore, you won't be bored here. The Holiday Inn Gwangju and Ramada Plaza Gwangju are some of the great short and long-stay options here. 60 kilometres to the southeast of Gurye you can also stay at Namhae, home to the Pension Manoa and Opera House Pension. If you're staying in Namhae, be sure to check out Nabi Saengtae Park and the Boriam Temple.

Jeonju is 75 kilometres from Gurye and has a population of 700,000. When you're in the region, you'd be mad if you didn't have a gander at the Jeonju Zoo, the Sori Arts Center of Jeolla and Miseong Bowling Jang. Got some more time to spare? Take advantage of the photo ops at the Hanji Museum and the Jeonju Korean Traditional Wine Museum.
