Hotel was clean, location was good, but the ice machine was broken, no bottled water in rooms, and none of the customary amenities of good hotels.

Reliable brand for a good night’s sleep
I chose Hampton Inn because it is a reliable brand. I was not disappointed. The first room we checked into had a problem with the toilet, but the manager responded immediately and moved us to a different room. Everything else went smoothly as expected.

The hottub was not usable- not only did it now work, it was discolored and looked like mold was growing in the tub. The room had live wies sticking out of the AC

Don't ask the Desk Clerk for any assistance
I had an early flight out of Bush International on Wednesday morning and needed to know whether my drive time would be affected by the construction work on west bound lanes of Interstate 10. So when arriving back at the hotel Monday evening I asked the desk clerk if she could find out for me the status of the construction work. The woman responded that she doesn't personally ever drive on Interstate 10 and so couldnt answer my question and in addition there was no computer in the hotel so she couldnt check on the internet. When I asked if she could call the highway dept or some one else she nastily asked me what number to call. I was annoyed because I am visiting from Canada and have no idea of what dept or service to call. To get rid of me she finally wrote down the phone number of the local police and told me to call them. I went up to my room and called that number four times over the next hour and the line was busy every time. I finally solved the problem myself on Tuesday morning by driving over to the local Councillors office where a very kind receptionist contacted the state highway dept and confirmed that the construction would be over by 5:00 AM and I did make it to the airport in time. The desk clerk's poor knowledge and attitude was shocking for someone that is in the hospitality industry.

AVOID IF LOOKING FOR INDOOR POOL
We specifically chose this hotel for indoor pool and hot tub. Both were in awful condition. We asked them if we could have refund. Response was pool not listed as heated so no refund - yet "hot" tub had no heat either. My granddaughters so disappointed. Girl at front desk as sweet as she could be (as I was not the only guest complaining) -only reason not 1 star. We left and continued to home. Take a look at pics and form your own opinion. BTW there were no signs indicating hot tub out of service.

This was an overnight on a 4 day journey from Key West to Tucson. It was nice, relaxing stay with a restaurant next door which is always so convenient.
