What a wonderful little studio. Things felt clean and tidy, lots of amenities (fridge, induction hot plate, pots, dishes, dishwasher, etc.). The space feels very homely, with an adorable private covered patio. The caretakers (owners?) were very friendly and responsive. We didn't see them much, but when we first did they apologized for the state of their yard (we hadn't noticed, apparently a boar had had fun and dug it up a bit). Otherwise they mostly were hands off and gave us privacy.
I have two complaints:
1) Quiet time is stated as 9am-9pm. The walls are thin, and we were woken up between 5:30-6:30am every day (we were there in the middle unit). I think the folks staying in the other unit were getting up early to see the Volcano, but we could hear closing the cupboards (I assume) and banging around. We also could hear the caretakers in the laundry room (they seem like early risers) opening the storage cabinets that shared the bed wall (which was really loud), turning on the water, and closing their access door to the laundry room clearly. We were also woken up by the manager around 6am to move our car to fill their water catchment system, stuff happens, but it was jarring since we weren't sleeping well due to #2.
2: The bed leaves a lot to be desired (as others have noted). It's pretty sunken and uncomfortable.
That said, I really liked the place and would stay again. A fan for white noise and a new bed would make this an easy 5! Mahalo!
