I stayed for 5 FREEZING cold days in January, and my room was nice and warm, the comforter on the bed was thick and warm, and there was a mini-fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room, so I could buy some groceries to heat up in my room when I didn't feel like going out.
Location is nice. Very walkable to center of town. Price was very good. Bed super comfortable. Certainly not a top of the line hotel but was perfect for our one night in Helen, Georgia.
This past Saturday, My husband and i frequent this location when we travel to the area because the rates and cleanliness and location are generally agreeable. Hotel room was clean, fixtures need some updates, price for the night was amazing.
Unfortunately we never got to sleep due to noisy and abnoxious neighbors next door to us in room 206. (We were in 205) This motel has no insulation, therefore thin walls. (That's expected of any motel.) There needs to be an off duty cop employed as well as a 3rd shift (11pm - 7am) employee to manage hourly noise disturbances.
I won't be staying here until a form of property security is in place to address guest issues, such as noise complaints.

Not bad!
dated but clean. Worth the money due to location. Bed was very comfortable.
Property is old and needs to be updated. Painting peeling off in the bathroom, sink clogged and room has musty smell. Location is great but property needs a lot of maintenance

I’m a world traveler and really was optimistic that this location would offer an authentic Bavarian experience. Sadly, everything fell short of my expectations, including this hotel. I truly feel badly for the new owners, as they are struggling to recover from the COVID years and are very helpful in trying to make things right, but the price for a three-night stay was outrageous for this facility. Very dire need for repairs and basic maintenance, which the owner said is planned for the very near future. Honestly, when all is said and done, if you’re staying in Helen for more than a day?? Save your money and just go to Germany, Switzerland, or Austria for the real Alpine experience. You’ll get more bang for your buck and authenticity, vs a tourist trap.
This place was pretty expensive and wasn't the nicest place but it was super close to everything and the staff was really nice and the check-in and check out process was easy and took very little time.
So if your looking to walk to town and back to your room then I'd recommend this place.
