Hervanta is a place with stacks of cool stories to tell. If you think your life's been a bit boring lately, a trip here is the perfect answer!

The nation's capital city, Helsinki, sits approximately 150 kilometres to the southeast of Hervanta.

Tampere is just 11 kilometres away and boasts some awesome sights. Kaleva Church and Sarkanniemi alone will make the trip a memorable one. If you're still not sold, you should also have a look at Tampere Cathedral.

Mother Nature's artwork is on show in numerous places around Hervanta. Just 13 kilometres away, Viikinsaari Island is a great place to kick off your sightseeing. Valkeakoski Tourist Office sits 19 kilometres away and is another picturesque spot for a bit of downtime.

Get the blood flowing with a walk around Hatanpään Arboretum or Sorsapuisto Park. If your stomach is grumbling, they're two fitting spots to spread out a rug and indulge in a picnic.

Located 9 kilometres away, Tampereen Jaahali is a favourite for ice hockey devotees. Pack a few pieces of green, yellow and black, and time your stay with a game featuring the home team, the Ilves. You can also cheer on the second home team, the Tappara.

Seeking even more things to see and do? Head to Lempaala, 11 kilometres southwest of Hervanta, for Ideapark and Funpark. Alternatively, Valkeakoski is 19 kilometres to the southeast, and it's here you'll come across Saaksmaki Church and Rapola Castle.

Hameenlinna, 55 kilometres to the southeast, is worth a day trip. Use it as a port of call when visiting Hame Castle, Sibelius Childhood Home and Aulanko Nature Reserve. If you'd like more persuading, other nearby sights include the Sibelius Birthplace and the Tawast Golf & Country Club.
