This place is a dump. It is dangerous and filthy. The premier (according to vrbo) host left us longlife milk two months past its sell by date. She told us breakfast was in tins. These were totally rusted top and bottom. The bed was damp, the compostable toilets were just buckets. The outside bath was filthy and had never been cleaned. The shower was a wooden shack. Said there was internet and solar power but there wasn't any. Booked two nights and had to stay one of them as couldn't contact another accommodation. Host promised to refund our money but of course she had no intention of doing this.

Disrespectful and unacceptable treatment
I would have given this bach a zero star, but 1 star is as low as you can give. We booked this bach and fully paid in November for us to stay at the end of December. 5 days before our booked stay, we received an email from the owner, Shannon, saying "sorry having problems with bookabach. This place is no longer available." Nothing else was explained to us accept that our booking was cancelled 5 days before our arrival time. I sent Shannon 3 emails asking how this was possible and asking her to explain why she cancelled our booking at such short notice. Shannon unfortunately decided it wasn't worth explaining to us. This completely ruined our holiday and we had to make other plans at very short notice. Of course no other bachs were available this late in the year and so close to New Years. We have still not heard from Shannon and are still waiting for our refund for our cancelled booking. It is completely unacceptable that Shannon did not make any attempt at communicating with us. We have stayed at several bookabach homes for several years and have never had such a bad experience. I would never recommend this place to anyone after having such a bad experience with the owner, Shannon. Remi and Rose

Really lovely getaway if you enjoy off grid living
Stunning views over looking Waihirere Falls overlooking hills very quiet and peaceful area very breathtaking, Excellent Accomodation. Would definitely recommend this beautiful place.
